A modeling question

I want a new race for my mod. In the Pellucidar books there are a race called the Sabertooth men and I am wondering if the lower teeth of an Orc could be switched with the top teeth. How complicated would the switch be? I am learning blender, nifskope and messing around with gimp. could someone give me an easy to follow, step by step list of what to do in order to try it? I believe I could change the Orc race enough in the CS for this to work.

Depends. How much work are you willing to do? Are you willing to deal with Blender and import and export?

If so it's not that hard - Start up Blender, import the upper Khajiit teeth, and switch to edit mode. Turn proportional edit on (little orange circle on the bar above the edit buttons) and grab the tip of each tooth. Drag them down until the fangs are as long as you want. Scrolling the mouse wheel increases or decreases the radius affected by the editing.

Then go to object mode, press ctrl+a, and export the teeth into a new folder named appropriately for your mod (e.g. meshes/characters/saber men or whatever). They should already have correct material settings and positioning since you used a default mesh, so you can path directly to them when you make the .esp for your new race.

Thank you so much! I am going to go try that right now. Trial and error should prevail. And seeing as I am building a whole new world almost as big as Cyrodiil and that I spend 12 to 16 hours a day 7 days a week working on it tells how much work I am willing to put into this project. Thank you again.

Good luck! I had no idea your project was that big! That is strong dedication for certain!

Simple instructions right? Well I'm a total noob at blender. I've gone through a few tutorials but haven't made anything yet. My last post was at 10:15 pm it is now 4:26am I have been working on this one set of teeth all night. I followed the instructions but had to go read a few tutorials along the way. I made the teeth. I'm sure they will look awful in the game but this is my first attempt.

You said to go to object mode and press ctrl+a this is the box that pops up

If I try to go to file/ export/ Gameimersivewhatever nif this screen shows up

and the file is saved as a blend nif. the blend nif doesn't appear in the folder when I open the CS.

What is it that I haven't figured out yet? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, I work on my laptop while my desktop is generating terrain for my world. I've built four caves that will lead to Pellucidar but I plan many more. I have created seven new races and I am putting together the main as well as several minor quests. I'm working on learning Blender, nifskope and gimp. I am determined to bring this world to life in the elder scrolls Oblivion world. I have had very little help and have even been advised by some serious modders not to even try certain thing like making a map for my worldspace so that I can fast travel within it. Click on the Pellucidar banner in my signature and you will see that even though I had nothing to start with, no help or tutorials, I refused to give up. I have come to believe that anything can be done in this game if you are willing to learn and experiment.

The world of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Pellucidar Is at the center of the world, it is just not the Earth but the world of the elder scrolls. I'll show this world to gamers even if I have to do everything myself. That is why you will always see that I have posted a thank you to anyone who offers useful information.

The funniest thing is that since I downloaded the construction set and started putting tiles together, I haven't played the game at all. I only go into the game long enough to test something I've added. I absolutely love creating new places, worlds and people, it's just a matter of time before I am, creating my own creatures, armor and weapons.

Hi SY!

I am looking to increase the size of my orc races lower teeth, making them more tusk like. Could this example be used in that case as well?

this is my first attempt at modeling but from what I have done already I can tell you that you could use this to make the Orc's teeth into tusks. Just import the lower teeth and go to work
