Mods comment section improvement - trees?

Hi,

 

The mod comment section is usually where people troubleshoot things. Often there's one person asking a question, then 2-5 responding him. This leads to many pages of comments, and consequently many people not bothering to read all of the comments, thus asking questions already asked a second or a third time, making it a frustrating experience for everyone.

 

Would it be possible to tie all responses to a single post into a response-tree, thus folding relevant answers to that single post out of sight? I realize mod comments are also forum posts, so this feature would have to work on the website side only.
