Deleted5033555User
Hi all, I'd like some assistance with SKSE, if possible... Been modding Skyrim (mostly graphics-related mods), and decided to add the SkyUI mod, but it requires SKSE. I downloaded the latest version (1.6.5), followed all the instructions, installed it properly, but when I start the game using the skse_loader, I crash immediately, even before the Bethesda logo. Tried "reinstalling" the SKSE, running the loader as an administrator, but nothing helped. Skyrim starts and plays normally without SKSE... So, anyone have any ideas? My Skyrim version is 1.8.151.0.7 (latest), while SKSE 1.6.5. says it's only compatible with 1.8.151.0. Could this be the problem, should I simply wait for the next version because of the patch, or am I dealing with something else here?
steve40
The latest skse works fine. Did you install the skse dlls and scripts, not just skse_loader.exe? Edited November 16, 2012 by steve40

Did you install the skse dlls and scripts, not just skse_loader.exe?Yes, I followed the "readme" instructions, installed both the dlls and Scripts in correct folders, as instructed. Didn't work...Then I even copied "Source" and "src" folders just in case, even though it says they're intended for mod creators. Same thing... Are there any mods that are known to conflict with SKSE?Maybe that's my problem. If it'd be of any help, I could post screenshots of my NMM...I'd really like this issue resolved... Xandreela
Hi, it's possible that some mods required the latest SKSE (happened to me with the Uncapper... Which does not work properly and can cause CTD), try to see your mods and update them =) Edited November 16, 2012 by Xandreela
bben46
SKSE is not known to cause problems. However, mods that require SKSE can be incompatible with other mods that do or do not require SKSE. I have seen many posts that say it absolutely has to be SKSE because the problem went away when I uninstalled it. - When you uninstall SKSE, any mod that requires it will NOT run. If the problem is in that mod the problem will not show up making it appear that SKSE was the problem when it was actually a mod. Not every mod that requires SKSE will cause an immediate crash when SKSE is not installed. Some just won't work.

Deleted5033555User
OK, I managed to fix my problem! The mod that was causing my SKSE to crash is RCRN. After I uninstalled it, everything works fine, though since it's a very nice mod, will try to look for solutions to make them both work normally... derStreber
Definately NOT! SKSE causes frequently CTD's - that is truth. I have started a new game with Dawnguard, Hearthfires and Dragonborn with SKSE = Crash and then another game with the same DLC's without SKSE and game runs fine. It is very pity that the modders that are producing the best mods using SKSE - this sucks, man.

Nevermind what people with the technical expertise to make such a judgement about SKSE collectively say; this guy is special.
