It would be cool to just run straight at an enemy with a shotgun, jump, slowmo in mid-air, fire, see the gore, and un-slomo. It feels like 300 all over again, well...with guns. The creation of the chemical man came from Eastern Europe, where was seen the rise of the super athlete/warrior. At first, drugs were used to build the natural body through the use of synthetic hormones, such as steroids to build muscles, and EPO to increase blood flow and physical performance. However, it soon became apparent that the chemical condition was too difficult to maintain at peak level over long periods of time. Unless the individual was carefully monitored and drug intake adjusted, the person would experience severe performance dropoffs, lulls, and highs. A consistent level of optimum performance was necessary in order to create the perfect human super-machine. New designer drugs were combined with a computerized biological monitoring and drug dispensary system with incredible results. The computer system monitored every aspect of the body: blood flow, air intake, oxygen levels, adrenaline release, sugar levels, hormone levels, respiration, neurological responses and stimuli, digestion, and other aspects of the functioning human body. Microscopic implants placed in the vascular system, brain, and muscles mapped out the body in inimaginable detail. Nano-technology and chemical advancement would herald the day of the super-human without the extreme mechanical augmentation of bionics. The first step in creating the chemical super man is the implantation of two tiny mega-computers called the bio-comp system. The postage stamp sized devices are implanted in the subject's head and/or chest. The dual system served as a fail-safe feature that enables one bio-comp system to override the other in case of malfunction. Only one system operates at a time, although both are neurologically linked to hundreds of microscopic sensors implanted throughout the body. These tiny implants constantly relay data about the subject's physiology as the body reacts and changes in response to stimuli like drugs, stress, pain, and combat. The bio-comp system is also designed to trigger different natural and artificial chemical responses to thousands of specific conditions. For example: If the body needs a jolt of adrenaline, the bio-comp system triggers a microscopic implant to release it precisely when needed. If it needs more than the natural amount of adrenaline, the system sees to it that more is delivered. If the body is feeling fatigued, a form of super EPO synthetic hormone is injected to increase the oxygen flow into the blood, which decreases fatigue and increases physical performanceby an amazing 16 to 21 percent! Other sensors, implants and chemicals are utilized to negate pain, clot blood, and stimulate chemical reactions.An injection collar around the neck, wrists, upper arm, and legs, deliver the needed synthetic chemicals. The man-made drugs are contained in a soft, padded harness worn under clothing and battle armor. Tubes run from the central dispensary system of the harness to the specific injection collars. This is especially useful in the immediate treatment of specific areas of the body, especially for pain and muscular disorders. In addition to initiating or countering specified chemical reactions, the bio-comp system also maintains the body at maximum levels of efficiency. All aspects of optimum physical conditioning are monitored and maintained. The individual's body weight, calorie intake, breathing, muscles, bulk, flexibility, reflexes, alertness, vision, and sensitivity are all maintained on a constant basis. But there is still more! The same nano-technology that make the bio-comp system possible is also responsible for the IRMSS Internal Robot Medical Surgeon System, a battery of microscopic robots programmed to perform internal surgery! The Juicer has two IRMSS housing units, one external housing and one internal housing. The external robots are similar to the IRMSS portable kit. The medical robots are released by injecting them into the bloodstream, where they will navigate to the trouble zone and affect repairs. Unlike the portable kit, the Juicer has a circular chest plate over his heart that will inject the robots bypounding on the plate. The robots are injected directly into one of the main heart arteries so that they are rushed into the circulatory system. They can reach a torn vein or artery anywhere in the body within 60 seconds. The internal system is located in the neck and is controlled by the bio-comp system. Unlike the IRMSS kits (and chest unit), whose robots cease to function after a while and are flushed from the body, these tiny medical units can be guided back to their housing and recharged by the body's own electro-magnetic energy, to be used over and over again. All IRMSS units are designed to stop bleeding, suture veins and arteries, and aid in the internal repair and healing of the body. The bio-comp system assists by increasing or decreasing blood flow, the number of red or white blood cells, and by dispensing natural and synthetic painkillers, sedatives, antibiotics, and so on. The end result is a super man! The chemically "juiced-up" subject is 10 times faster, stronger, and more alert than the average human. One reason is that the controlled metabolism is actually increased to such a level during combat that perceived time and movement are slowed down. The Juicer sees the world much the same as a fly, with everything around him moving in slow motion while he moves with lightning speed and agility. It's like this.Imagine you're walking down the street, minding your own business, and then two street scum decide to screw with you. Maybe they don't notice the drug harness — myself, I hide it under my cloak; I don't like to advertise — or maybe they are just high on something, or just plain crazy. They ask you for money, you tell them to go play with themselves, and one of them reaches for a gun or a vibro-blade. That's when it starts to happen. That little computer they built into you starts pumping chemicals into your bloodstream. The world slows down around you, and everything feels sharper, clearer, more real than anything you'll ever feel, before or after. You can count every hair in the young punk's face, you can smell his fear and anger, you are aware of everything around you. I guess that's how a god would feel.You have all the time in the world. The punk's weapon is only halfway out of its holster, and you still have time to think of a battle plan, enjoy the scenery, and even think of a snappy joke, before you need to make your move. Finally, you decide it's time to act. The punk is ten feet away. You close in. To the punk and his friends, it's like you just teleported. They are flies trying to swim through molasses, and you are a hawk soaring through the sky. What to do, what to do... You could draw your gun and drill the punk between his eyes, but you are feeling artistic, so you just wind-up and give him a good haymaker, powerful enough to dent ballistic armor. So the punk manages to clear his weapon, but you just batted his head clean off his shoulders. The other punks try to run. You can catch them —they'd need a car to get away from you — or you can let them go, enjoying the high while it lasts. Finally, the danger is over, and you come down. Things stop being so clear and beautiful anymore. You may even get the nagging suspicion you are back to being a human. Sometimes, I need to remind myself I'm not, and I have to leap off a building just to get the rush going again. You never feel so alive until you spit into the face of Death. —From A Juicer's Diary http://www.madnesssoft.net/john/juicer.jpg We already have armor in the game that has AI that alerts you when foes are around, so if someone figured out how to take all the info above me, make a harness(or go the alpha route at first to test and just use power armor) that instead of shouting "ENEMY'S LEAD!" it kicks you into "juicer" mode and time slows down like you were in vats, that would be the most insane mod ever in a game, and I would have your babies, and considering I'm a guy that's a HUGE COMPLIMENT! There would have to be other NPCs with this armor to make it fair and balanced, fighting an NPC that has armor like this would be crazy! See, that's just it, technically there already are, take jet and ultra jet nuka quantum, buffout, med-x, etc, those are to give added reflexes(AP) and stats, in the game I'm taking the quotes from on the juicers(Rifts for anyone that actually doesn't know this but it sounds interesting and would like to know more), there are wannabe juicers, they don't have the money to actually get the juicer augmentation and harness, they take drugs like jet to enhance themselves to a mild point, of course being highly addictive side effects galore and becoming a junkie are exactly what happens in this game already. Said harness would be something you would see the Enclave with ONLY, as it's HIGHLY expensive, however, seeing a super mutant with one wouldn't be too far fetched either, and if you want to know what that would be like, look up "Titan Juicer" it can be found in the "Juicer uprising" book, and THAT my friends would be a SCARY *ban* day. The wannabe tries to smile grimly and look tough, but all he manages to do is look young and scared. Then he tries to come in. Lara, our bouncer, tries to be nice; she's got a soft spot for the young and stupid. "Juicers only, squishy." "I'm a Juicer, and I can prove it," he says, and that's when I know there's gonna be trouble. I should have noticed the symptoms: the kid had dropped a tab of Crash. "Lara, he's..." I start to say. "I'm gonna kick your ass!" the kid screams, and he tries to punch Lara in the face. crash makes you stronger and faster than human; it also makes you dumb enough to think it's enough to take on a Juicer. The sad thing was, the kid moved fast enough to make Lara react as if she posed a real danger. Her reflexes take over her, and before I can get to the door the kid's gotten his neck broken. Lara looks at me. Even under all the face paint, I can see her guilty expression. I shrug.
