Sebo85
So I got me a legal copy of 3ds max 2018 and found an importer and exporter plugin here on the nexus Importing works quite good but I can't get the collision exported as bkhCollisionObject like I need for Fallout 4, there's just a bhkRigidBodyT Block. I know it might be easier with 3ds max 2013 with the niftools plugin but I can not find the 2013 version online so I have to get this working with 2018 version. Please help me getting that to work Thanks in advance :)
pepperman35
Don't know if this works with 3ds max 2018 but it might be worth a look. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SssqMofI_Y

Sebo85
So after all there was just a handful of mod authors willing to help me with my issues I posted in this forum. This means to me that this forum is mostly dead or people are just either ignorant or don't even look into these threads.I guess that Fallout 4 has almost come to an end, at least regarding new high quality mods :D So I managed to help myself about most of my problems and I'm thankful for the mod authors of there that helped me and I really learned a lot about nifskope, blender and 3ds max. I'm thankful and sad at the same time that I have come to late :DCheers
pepperman35
"People are just either ignorant or don't even look into these threads" seems a bit harsh. Also, your assessment based on 5-day old post might not be totally fair. Granted, Fallout 4 is going on 5 years old so the player base and modding base probably has declined somewhat. I only started modding of Fallout 4 last year but it has been my observation that there are still good mods being produced/released. Having said that, I acknowledge that mods do not necessarily equate to models. Circling back to your original question, "Did you find a way to export the bkhCollisionObject out of 3ds max 2018?" If so, consider authoring a guide for others.
Sebo85
Okay it was not meant that hard, sorry if this is misunderstood :) No I was not able to get it done with 2018, I think it will never work with any plugins available. Another author gave me a trial of 2013 and that did the trick. Now I'm able to do collision how I need them!
pepperman35
Okay, good to know. One of these days I'll build up my nerve to try 3d max...last time I used in was modding Star Trek Armada lol.
Sebo85
I prefer blender though, it's easier to handle for me. Only when it comes to collision stuff I use 3ds. At least for the next 26 days when the trial ends :D
DiodeLadder
I've been making stuff in Blender and adding collisions to them using Nifskope. Here's a shop sign I've made in Blender 2.8 : As you can see the appropriate impact effect/decal are applied without problem. I've written a tutorial on adding collision here (post #7) : https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/8002618-how-do-modders-handle-nif-collisions-these-days/ Not the most elegant method, I guess, but at least it's doable. Sebo85
Yes I saw this post and made some collisions with this method. Just like you said it works, somehow, but it's not elegant :)I got me 3ds Max 2013 trial and can make clean collision for the next 3 weeks :DIf you want, I can make some for you too
