The Elder Scrolls online Creation Kit?

Why would a MMO be moddable? Its the developer's job to create new content to a game.. thats how they make their money.

Because it's already been proven doable? Neverwinter allows for player-made adventures, and actually rewards you for doing them (in the usual Perfect World way of rewarding non-paying players... which is to say with useless in game money you can't buy anything with). When I stopped playing 2 months ago, before the actual release, there were already hundreds of player made dungeons and scenarios. Most absolute crap, but the point stands...

Also, holy threadomancy batman! Didn't this thread die in like, December?

If there was modding, which I wouldn't be surprised if there was basic modding, I'm sure it would only be client side. HUDs, performance boosters, etc.

I have never played an MMO, but I have played many First Person Shooters (Quake, Counter Strike, etc) and if Bethesda let people host their own servers, then modding would be possible via private game servers. Teh server owner could put whatever mod he/she pleases in his server. The items/levels would be handled by Bethesda like how Valve handles TF2 items so no one can cheat and get the best stuff through a mod.

Somehow I doubt Bethesda will let people do that though...

I don't see how it would be possible to mod an online only game. Also how does anyone have their own house? The only way millions of players could live in the same player house space in the same village would be that the door opens to their personal interior cell tied to their account not the default cell as in a single player game so when you get to your village where your player home exists there are a bunch of people going in and out of there you have to wait in line to get into your own home?

I have a feeling that you only play online when you are doing a quest or something. In that case, the player would have his own house and stuff in his world, but then transition into the online world when doing a quest.

This is a terrific idea, I hope Bethesda is paying attention.
