MO 2

I'm not sure, but i have been configuring and building PC's for 30 years and think I know my stuff, but this Mod Organizer 2 is the worst I have ever used.

Not user friendly to say the least and when you think everything is working, it doesn't load the mods, the game reverts back to vanilla, whats up with that crap.

It loads the mods, it doesn't load them and then it just doesn't load anything, at least vortex works.

Heyas Medora. Welcome to the forums :)

It's not just MO2. Users are having the same problem that you described in Vortex as well.

Along with both managers having issues making and keeping an internet connection to the nexus.

One of the causes of the problem that you described is the update from November 17, 2019. They updated the game .exe to handle plugin headers differently when they moved to version .162

Mods made from the creation kit prior to that, do not have the same header value as the newer version, and it can and does cause conflict. Or not even be recognized by the game.

This can help with that, to some degree https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/42497

There is also a problem going on with AWKCR that people can't get the managers to install it correctly, and then do not Correctly install it manually.

That's been a big source of it reverting back to vanilla.

One way to avoid the vanilla bug, but it will most likely crash the game, is after setting up your load order, set your plugins.txt to read only. Which is in the appdata folder. Tho again, if the mods don't load, the game is gonna either screw up somewhere or just outright crash.

As one computer tech to another, I'm just gonna say that I usually go with what works. Know what I'm doing, and if ya want it done right, do it yourself. I'm also a very firm believer in K.I.S.S. Military acronym. Keep It Simple, Susan. (That's not what the last S really is, but I don't wanna offend anybody, hahaha.)
