TheRealPinkoScum
My big orc stronghold player home mod is going well, except now that I've tried adding a bard to the exterior common area. I just can't get it to work. I've tried several tutorials on the subject but all I can get her to do is say "do you need something?" when I try to interact with her. She moves around, interacts with objects like benches and crafting tables. But she won't sing or play an instrument. Nothing.
cumbrianlad
Like the idea of a big Orc stronghold, BTW. I don't know what tutorials you followed, but first of all, before we get into packages, do you have the appropriate markers placed for her to play her instruments? I've not done a bard but I'd say the same rule applies to this as any other NPC. Put down a set of 'PlayFlute', 'PlayDrum', 'PlayLute' markers, assign ownership of the markers to your bard's faction (if she has one. If she hasn't I think it would be a good idea to give her one). She may just stand at the marker and get her instrument out and play, but with no music, like children do in game. As I say, I haven't done a Bard. I think you need to do more, but that would be a start. Then make sure her editor location is about in the middle of the markers and that her sandbox package has a radius big enough to take in all the markers. If you want to make her play in one exterior area in the morning and an interior location in the evening give her two packages, say 'MyModNamePackageBardPlayMorning' and another for the evening. She's only saying 'Do you need something?' because she doesn't have any viable dialogue to say, other than that. You will need to make a dialogue quest for her. I put down a marker that the tutorials said to use that would make her play there when asked, but it isn't specific to playing any instrument or song. I'll try putting down some markers for instruments specifically. Edited February 3, 2020 by Grus27
