imcrease adoptions

I suspect it's possible...at least in the long run. You would probably make the mod similar to a multiple follower mod... find the quest involved and create additional aliases for the children, then change the scripts and any dialogue conditions to allow for more children. The reason it may not be possible right now, is I'm not sure if you can read/edit Hearthfire scripts in the CK yet. As far as I know the CK hasn't been updated to make it possible to edit Dawnguard scripts, so I suspect Hearthfires is the same.

I'd like to see a mod that would allow Aventus to be adopted. That kid needs a good role-model. Then again, I'm not sure my character would be considered a "good" role-model.

It is possible to edit both Dawnguard and Hearthfire scripts in the CK. In your skyrim/data/scripts folder you should have a folder for each DLC. All you need to do is copy all the scripts from those folders into your Source folder and the scripts can be edited normally. I have not tested whether the changes in these scripts actually affect the game or not because scripting is is something I'm still learning about. I hope someone with more knowledge about scripting takes the time to look over these files and can figure out a way to make this mod.

This is actually something I'm working on. I've modified the scripts to allow adoption of up to 6 kids. I still need to add some bed markers to several houses (only Lakeview has been done so far) and I need to figure out how to keep the adoption dialog enabled beyond 2 kids, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

I'm glad to hear that you have taken an interest in this mod idea. I do know from my own attempts to do this that there is a place in one of the adoption scripts which says something to the affect of "number of children adopted <2". I tried editing this to a larger number but additional adoptions still wouldn't work for me. The scope of changing the number allowed is probably a bit greater. I wish you the best of luck in making this mod a reality. Thanks for your interest and effort thus far.

Kryptopr From what is in the information about Heartfire Aventis will eventually return to the orphanage and can be adopted.... and as his goal is to become an assassin when he grows up he just might appreciate a 'non traditional' role model.

I don't know if Aventis is adoptable (already got two kids, picked them of the streets), but i can confirm that he returns to the orphanage.

I visited the orphanage this week - hoping Constance did not notice me taking those kids of the street - and found him sleeping over there.

I really hope the veteran modders find a way to get to more kids (and to have them live where-ever i want - pretty please, with a cherry on top)

I'm hoping to build a big house someday with lots of child's beds :)

I'm glad you're looking in to it :) Wish you the best of luck!

I would be glad with - only - six kids, at least i can get those poor things of the cold and dangerous streets.

I trust that Constance is taking good care of the others, but my heart will break if i see another orphan living outside.

(just as the precious poster, i try to avoid those places...)

I don't know if it will be of any use, but i found this on the forum.

I have so far been able to update the necessary scripts and quests. I'm now working on updating all the child dialog to also work for the kids 3..6.

Lakeview is the only house I've modified so far with 6 bed markers (the two beds in the bedroom wing and the two single and one double bed upstairs in the Main hall). From my testing so far these markers seem to work.

As for custom house support. I'll look into that as soon as I have at least a fully functional Lakeview Manor. After that I'll first try and work my way through the default houses, though I have no idea how I'm going to squeeze six beds into Breezehome. I may have to limit the adoptions to the limit of the current house. Custom houses will need to have the necessary markers set up for adoption related stuff to work, beyond that the scripts would have to be changed to allow a custom movable house location to be set (maybe a spell or something to mark the new custom home - I'll have to think about that).

Okay, a little update...

I've completed the changes to the dialog. And I've done some testing on some old saves. I'm still seeing some problems with gifts not always being handled properly, daggers not being equipped, clothing not changing that sort of stuff, but I did have a game where I had 3 kids, two from Hearthfire and one from this mod: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25654. They seemed to function as expected, though I still need to work on the bed markers, as not all markers seem to be functioning properly. So, if all goes well I think I might release an initial version soon.
