I want to know about Junkmaster

So for the longest time while playing Fallout 4 on the PC and looking through the comments on the nexus I always see the mod named junkmaster being talked about and how great it is. I kind of want to get this mod but when looking on Bethesda.net it says that it is only for Xbox 1 users. If anyone would like to give me there opinion on the mod and tell me what it gives and brings then that would be great!

heyas Webb :)

I actually had not heard of it, til now. I did a search on yahoo for it, and I found a wiki for it, that had a dead link to it on the bethesda site.

Looking up the author here, it looks like they've removed or don't have any files here.

From what little I looked up, it looks like it was a really large scale overhaul mod, that kept getting bigger. And from some...buggier.

I know that's not much help to ya. Sorry :(

I had it installed for a while on console. It added/changed alot of little things in the game. I loved pretty much everything non-combat-related that it added. But I hated all of the combat-related changes and additions it made. And there was a LOT of that... I really wish the author would have split the mod in two. I bet it would've been alot less buggy that way.

Its a massive messy mod that changes a lot of things as well as adds some weapons and armors - https://junkmaster.fandom.com/wiki/Junkmaster_Wiki

Not even the wiki really has a list of what all is changed, people are told to check out the craziest change list to see what all has been done - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kuOik99PorT7wwzlJ6hvqQ3tC4raqH6mYwJuX7dl4J0/edit

It used to be up for PC as well as Xbox, but my best guess is the author got a lil paranoid about work being stolen (people wanting small parts of the mod ported out was a common issue) and took it down.

Its still available for PC on the mods discord AFAIK.

Considering that its still available at Bethesda.net you really might be onto something there lilkandeekid.

I know an author on there, that won't release his mods on PC, for the very reason that you mentioned. So that they can't be reverse engineered, or modified, or tampered with, and then re-released.

You know what the author should really do is release the weapon and armors as mods on nexus. I feel that a lot of people would appreciate if he did that. Then he wouldn't have to worry about people stealing his stuff.

That was exactly the problem im thinking lol.

Everyone wanted him to release the weapons and armors as individual mods, but he had them made specifically for Junkmaster and was really opposed to having them released outside of the overall mod.

After everyone kept asking he must have figured people would soon just start picking out stuff they want from the archives (I would too with that mess of a mod), and removed easy access to the PC version with the archives exposed.

I was watching a few of Captainoob's vids on youtube yesterday.

And I noticed that he has a few on the junkmaster weapons. If you're not familiar with Captainoob, he's a modder who leans a tad bit towards the evil genius side, when it comes to making crazy weapons.

He was really complaining about how the perk bonuses weren't applying correctly on a couple of them, so they were not doing anywhere near the damage output that they should have been.

I dunno, just the fact that they took it upon themselves to change stuff that isn't weapon related, to other stuff in the game (in one of his vids he explained that enemy turrets no longer had explosion splash damage when ya destroy them because of that mod) is kind of a turn off to me.

I'm guessing if we want some weapons from the older games we will have to wait until the mod projects release them as individual mods. Thank you for the feedback I'm really happy that you guys explained it to me. Now don't freak out but I'm going to post a new topic on this forum. I'm going to put out an idea that I have had for a long time.
