exanimis
I start up Blender and delete the cube in the center of the screen. I go to file and import and netimersive Gambryo. I impert the Khajiit upper teeth I change to edit mode and make sure that Proportional is on http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o108/crossbones59/BlendHelp/PrepOn.jpg I make sure that I don't move the teeth from their original position http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o108/crossbones59/BlendHelp/teeth.jpg I edit the teeth (as seen in these screenshots) I switch to Objects mode and hit Ctrl and A and left click on the Scale and rotation to OBdata option http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o108/crossbones59/BlendHelp/CtrlA.jpg I click the file tab and choose export/Netimersive/Gambrio http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o108/crossbones59/BlendHelp/exporting.jpg I save the nif http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o108/crossbones59/BlendHelp/saving.jpg I check to make sure that the file is saved as an oblivion file http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o108/crossbones59/BlendHelp/savescreen.jpg I close Blender/move the saved file to the correct folder/ open the CS click Character/Race and chose my new sabertooth race. I click face data and add the new teeth to the proper place and this is what I get http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o108/crossbones59/BlendHelp/Sabertooth.jpg I have done this as a tutorial and enough to get familiar with blender and I don't expect to get this right on my first few attempts but , How do I position the teeth so that they look right ingame? exanimis
Thinking that I was somehow moving the teeth without understanding why or how, I opened blender and remade the teeth except this time I moved them on purpose. I placed them in a position that I thought would better match up. The results of this test was to have the teeth in the exact same position as before. Sticking out of the neck regardless of me having moved them or not. they are always in the same position. There must be a way to fix this and someone on this forum knows the answer. armageddon818
I dont think that people are holding out on you, actually i think it is the name of this thread which is what is not yielding an appropriate answer. "Help a Blender Noob" is not very specific to your problem, and had i not seen that it was your post, i might not have even looked at it. The title has to catch people who might know the answer to your problem. Subtitles are the place for humorous phrases like that. I think that starting another topic (although that might be against the rules) with a different title would get you the answers that you need. OR If there is a way to change the title of this thread as a whole, then that would be your best bet. Specificity is key: Sabertooth Teeth: Placement Issues Subtitle: Help a Poor Noob!!! I hope you get the answer soon, you are very ambitious and hard-working... not exactly the most common set of traits around here! You'll go far. Good Luck! exanimis
Thank armageddon818, I've posted a request to the moderators to change the title of this thread. Hopefully one of them will change it and someone will answer this post. I have been able to figure out a lot on my own but blender seems to be beyond my understanding at the moment. I'll be reading and trying out a lot of tutorials. like you, I believe reposting this thread would be against forum rules so I will try to keep this thread alive long enough to get an answer. With that said I don't know how I'm going to accomplish this as bumping is against the rules. Once again thank you for your post, it helps. SickleYield
Is it that way in playtest or just in the CS? Sometimes the CS doesn't like facial item edits and won't display them properly even if they're okay in game. If that's the case it won't matter how much you reposition, it will show the same error. If that's the case it won't matter how much you reposition, it will show the same error. it looks the same in the game as in the CS. In both the teeth are sideways, going from top to bottom instead of right to left and the gums are sticking out of the neck.
SickleYield
When things like that happen, and I can't figure out why, I've been known to rig to the head bone and reposition the teeth in Blender and export with a skeleton.

Thank you SickleYield, that at least points me in a different direction. I'll start reading tutorials and see if I can figure out how I can rig it to the head/skeleton while I'm waiting for answers.
