Evien
There isn't a specific thread (that I could find that wasn't dead)on this. I've fought 6 vampires but they don't seem to bite me. I'm doing it with a level 2 redguard as a prototype. Is it something with my character? Or is it what I do after? I rest for 4 days and rest until night but I don't become a vampire. Do I need to talk to the clan leader to become a vampire? (I have the GOTY edition if it matters). :help:
The Truth
Vamps in the game don't "bite". They merely hit your with their hands and weapons and infect you with a blood related disease. And sice you are a Redguard, your natural disease resistance is probably making it exceedingly difficult for you to be infected.
cmac
Also note that if you have completed the Main Quest (or at least up to the Corprus Cure subquest) that you now have Corprus immunuty and are exempt from all diseases and blights. Therefore, catching Vampirism (Porphyric Hemophilia) is impossible.
Evien
It's just a level 2 prototype character I created specifically to see what vampirism is like and have done no quests. But it must be the race I was. So the precedure I followed is fine? I don't need to contact the vampire Berne (that's what I fought) leader to become a vampire? MDRud216
and... if a vampire actually does infect you a message box will apear saying you have contracted "poryphoric hemophilia" just like any normal disease... once you get that message you can rest for 3 days to become a vamp... if you have Morrowind on the pc you might consider using the console to lower your disease resistance or raise your disease weakness temporarily... or find or create a spell that does the smae thing. Evien
Thanks a lot, I didn't know the box thing, it never happened to me before. I'll have to make a new non-Redguard prototype.
cactoblasta
You can be redguard/nerevarine and become a vampire. All you need is one or more weakness to common disease spells. Simply make a 100% weakness to common disease on self, cast it and then allow the vamps to hit you until you're infected. If that takes too long, create a few more identical (but differently named) spells and then cast them all at the same time; with 400% or greater weakness you should be a vampire in no time. EDIT: I believe a weakness to disease spell is available in Sadrith Mora, but someone else (or a quick search) should be able to give you precise directions. The Truth
Weakness to disease can actually bought in Caldera. The Dunmer woman on the first floor behind the desk/table sells it.
Evien
Thank you, I have changed my characters race and am a vampire. Though I am thouroghly dissappointed with vamps. But that's another thread. Thanks for all the help. ;)
