Pioldes
Thank you, I'll try this. I'm still going on trial and error, so that may be why the scabbard isn't coming out right. The way I imported it in the NIF was importing an .obj I made from 3ds max 2012. As for the scab texture, it's the same as the sword texture, I put both of them in the same texture to save UV space.
ghosu
When you don't export it using the nif plugin and do it with an .obj use an older NifSkope version like rc4 ... sooo many people (including me) ran into the uv map issue using a new version. Or use the nif plugin for 3DsMax to export it as nif and copy/paste the nitrishape from this nif into your file. Pioldes
I fixed it! :) Thanks! The obj. was the problem. I exported a .NIF file of my scabbard and the textures worked! I also managed to get it working in-game properly, this is motivating, hahaha. Now I only need to get my shield in. Should I follow an armor tutorial for this or something? Edit: here's a work in progress of the shield, taken from 3DS Max viewport: http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/923097Shield2.jpg Edited November 28, 2012 by Pioldes
ghosu
Yes, it works as .nif because the .obj import in new NifSkope versiones often trash the UV map.Shield is rigid as well, so it's quite the same as a weapon...just with a shield's nif as reference to copy/paste. Pioldes
I tried that earlier and while it looked okay in NifSkope, the shield was invisible in-game. I'm gonna go give it another try though. Edited November 28, 2012 by Pioldes
Pioldes
Aaaand it worked! :) I messed around and found out that it needed to have the same string value as the vanilla shield for the game to understand. I have no idea what string value means, but hey, it works! Here are some pictures (plus a Marmoset Toolbag render because Skyrim is evil and flattens out my textures). http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8210/8228984988_f6f3c6a16b_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8068/8227917133_c6a5f1f6b7_h.jpg

Indiwolf14
That is one of the prettiest swords I've ever seen. A shame it doesn't appear to be available anywhere.
