Zeno Clash

For people in the market for a dirt-cheap indie game that also happens to be awesome, look no further than Zeno Clash. It's on Steam at 90% off, for exactly $0.99.

Based on the Source Engine, Zeno Clash is a fusion of a first person action adventure title, and a first person fighting game. It's very original in setting and execution, but has an art style similar to Oddworld. I just finished my first playthrough, and I'm looking forward to going back for a second run on hard. It runs well above 60 fps at all times on my 460 on ultra settings with 8xCSAA, and it looks quite nice. I can't tell what they did to make the graphics so strange and exotic, but it really works.

 

I want to say more... but I won't.

 

As an added tip, I discovered that Nvidia owners can force Ambient Occlusion (tested with Half Life 2 compatibility).

 

I can't recommend this game enough, there's nothing else quite like it on the market right now. I'd have a clear conscience saying that it's better (imo) than most of my $30-$60 games, and for $0.99 during the Steam Autumn Sale, what do you have to lose?

Screens look amazing, for some weird reason it reminds of Planescape Torment, I'm definitely going to be picking this one up on Steam. Can't beat that price at only a dollar, no matter what game it is.
