archerarcher
I just spent some hours in this and I think the scope (Sniper and .44) is a combination of a .dds (the whats-around-the-screen) and a mesh (the crosshair). I dissected the NIFs and came to this conclusion. So, changing the crosshair is a task of modelling I think and what I have read so far is that there is bad support for importing/ exporting polymesh objects from/ to 3D modelling programs... SpeedyB64
Modeling for fallout is relatively simple. The hard part is getting it int the game. You said the crosshair is a model? If it is a model could you just retexture it? The crosshair itself cant be 3d it looks like a texture on a plane in front of the camera view. So it should be retextureable.
