Radioactivelad
So, I noticed that hanging out in the Lucky 38 Suite, the framerate starts to decline very rapidly; it gets especially bad if you're standing at one end of the suite looking towards the rest. Turns out it's caused by the Snowglobe collection of all things. I have pretty much the entire collection, and disabling a few of them with the console clears the issue up instantly My first thought of solving this problem was to add Room Markers to cull the room containing the globes when they're not visible anyway. Didn't help. Then I noticed there is a 0.1 Gamemode Quest script associated with the snowglobes. StopQuest on that using a test terminal in-game didn't have any impact. My only thought at this point is maybe it's the accumulating snow that gathers in the snowglobes? Maybe they use havok or something and the sheer number of particles from multiple globes is gumming up the engine, (they don't seem to be using a canned animations.) Anyone know how I could remove the Snow effect (or ideally, reduce the accumulation) from the globes? trashgarbage666
Just wanted to chime in to confirm that the snow particles absolutely are the problem. I spawned 10 Nellis AFB snow globes at my feet, and the impact it had on my framerate was very noticeable. Do the same with 10, 20, 30+ Lonesome Road snow globes, which have no particles, and the game barely notices. Wish I knew anything about 3D modeling, otherwise I'd gladly help out! Radioactivelad
Yeah I had a look at them in NIFskope, but couldn't find anything obvious. If Blender is necessary I'm definitely out of that race.
