Georgiegril
go to the skse website. Download the file to your desktop. Unzip the folder and then find the file that has the installation instructions. Read them. Follow them exactly. Also here is a Just FYI, your life with skyrim will be much more pleasant and hassle free if you also download and use BOSS (not a mod, a regular program) and also read every word of the mod description and readme for any mod you are interested in using. thomriis
Try doing it the manual way. 1.Just put all the files from SKSE in your installation folder. 2.you need to run the game through SKSE and not through the launcher or the EXE files. If you already did this,Just post again and please be a little more specific
bben46
SKSE is not a mod and does not install like a mod. It is not available on The Nexus or on any other legitimate site EXCEPT the author' site. NMM or any other mod manager cannot install it properly because it is not a mod.Go to the author's site to download. http://skse.silverlock.org/ Note: the install instructions are included inside the zipped file you download. You will need an unzipping program to open it - Any unzipping program will work. If you don't already have one, I recommend the FREE 7-zip. Here is the 7-zip site where the latest versions are available. http://www.7-zip.org/download.html Basic instructions (after getting a working program to unzip )1. Create a new folder for the downloaded SKSE zip file (mine is in C:\downloads\games\Skyrim\SKSE - NOTE This \Skyrim folder is NOT the steam folder where the game is installed. It is a holding folder for manually downloaded mods and other things relating to Skyrim that I download.2. Download the zipped SKSE file into that folder3. unzip the SKSE file in that folder4. Open (click on it) the readme 5. Follow the directions from the read me to install SKSE properly. :thumbsup:6. NMM does have a 'Launch SKSE' option to launch the game using SKSE directly from NMM - Not required, just a handy feature.
