Starting again, need a bit of help.

(Skip-able) So, I buy the elder scrolls games on console first for a year and then buy the PC version. I do this to just play the game and then by the time a year is up, a ton of great mods are out and most of the kinks are worked out of them. well, its about that time.

So, I'm getting back into modding and would like to know where to start. It's been a year and most of the things I've learned in oblivion are hidden in the back of my mind. I'm not asking for anyone to post a guide themselves, rather I'd like a short list of something like this; what downloads do I need? what to download first? links to said downloads or to a post that talks about them.

I'm not asking for mods like textures, armor, weapons, or gameplay, more like the stuff to get me started so I can start adding those mods in. I remember in oblivion there was something like a manager and bsa thing or something like that and maybe something else, but now everything's so new and I'm lost. Life is pretty busy at the moment too, so any help would be nice.

Thanks so much for your time!

EDIT: Damn, i misunderstood you and posted a whole instruction to modding tools (to create meshes/textures blabla)...well, english is not my native language :D

Regarding the real question...most people use Nexus Mod Manager to download and manage mods. I do it the oldschool manual way :D

I find it confusing from time to time aswell when people say "modding" and mean "using mods" whereas "modding" to me always meant the process of creating mods. "Using mods" is playing the game. ;)

To be on topic:

NMM is a pretty good mod manager, makes downloding and installing easy. But most importantly (to me) it makes uninstalling easy. As opposed to manually uninstalling.

Most people recommend to use BOSS to sort the load order.

As for bsa unpackers (not really needed if you only want to play the mods):My link, My link, My link

Wrye Bash is another tool that can install mods and a ton more stuff.
