FPS Issues and cant find the problem

Recommended Posts

Currently I am getting between 10-20 fps outside and 25-50 fps inside. I dropped from ultra with 4x AA and 16x Ani to High with no AA and 8x Ani with no effect on fps at all. I have tried Razer Gamebooster and FPS Booster v1.1 found on skyrim nexus also with no effect. I am running out of ideas on how to improve the performance since none of the typical methods seem to be having any effect at all. Am I doing something wrong here? Am I missing a step somewhere? What would cause the low fps if its not being affected by ENB, AA, or Anisotorpic Filtering? Please geniuses of the nexus forums help me! If you need any more information just ask and I will answer to the best of my ability.

Project ENB Pure DoF and SSAO off

I tried RCRN to see if it was ENB and got LOWER fps (about 5-10 outside)

-update your driver (it is true, 12.1?)

-depend of resolution, HD 6670 can run Skyrim with High setting (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:System_Requirements)

-some ENB is too heavy, try to turn off SSAO at enbseries.ini (and DOF if you want more FPS)

I have SSAO and DoF off, SSAO causes weird "shadows" around actors for me and DoF just isn't something that suits my taste. I play at 1600x900 which is my monitors native resolution. The thing that gets me is altering the settings had NO effect on the framerate. I would imagine Ultra would have a lower FPS than High. I know that my card is far from the best out there but its not a bad card either. It used to run smoother (just got back into playing skyrim again lol) and the while it doesn't feel like very low FPS it can be a little choppy which is annoying. I also have skylighting off in ENB knowing that skylighting, DoF and SSAO (which doesnt work on ATI cards anyway) are the biggest performance hogs. The other oddity, I thought at least, is that RCRN caused and even lower FPS as I thought RCRN was less of a performance hit than ENB.

My cards shows in the Medium/High section of your link. I have high settings, draw distances halved except for grass which is full, AA OFF and Anisotorpic filtering at 8 so its below the standard high settings and even that had no impact on FPS

these APU's are a new breed thats yet to be tamed ,have you updated the bios and or chipset driver package ? the wrong ROM file for the bios will cause noticable performance loss as does the wrong chipset drivers ,if you have updated or changed either check that you havn't done it wrong .

I never considered that lol, no I have not updated the drivers for the chipset or the BIOS. I will definitely try that. I know my way around computers but the processor is something I have (well in my opinion) basic knowledge only. I understand the speed, multi cores sidebus etc but not the different types. I will update if that helps. Thank you!

EDIT: It appears up to date but not sure how to check BIOS

Seriously, get rid of the ENB series altogether. I use Climates of Tamriel with the RCRN Injector (not with the RCRN plugins activated of course since I have CoT)and Enhanced Lights and FX. I get no performance hit. IDK, these ENB seem to cause a fair few problems on ATI setups and crippling frame rate can be one of them - I have a 6970 and still won't use an ENB.

I may try that, I tried just straight up RCRN 36 after removing all the conflicting mods and it was WAY too dark (day not night I like my dark night) and my FPS plumeted to the single digits outside:P Maybe if I just use parts of it. TY

EDIT: I am having trouble finding this injector version, any ideas where to find it now?

EDIT2: I think I figured out what you meant, using the FXAA injector with old RCRN settings but not including the .esp or data files.

Yes, you can copy across all the files from RCRN including the Data as long as you do not activate the plugins, activate CoT and Enhanced Lights and FX plugins instead. You'll still be able to use the RCRN customizer. And don't forget The Imaginator as well. If you check out some of my screens you can see what good looking visuals I get.
