Rezer3n
Made a bunch of Player Character dialogue edits in a mod I downloaded (for my own use) and saved five or six times. I start up SSEE today and load said mod but all of my CHANGES ARE UNDONE. I have the saves in my overwrite folder, so how do I plug them back in SSEE? Lol I'm incredibly annoyed atm, ngl.. My overwrite folder is marked as READ ONLY which I can't change, even though I have full control enabled for all groups and user names on the drive where all of my stuff including Steam, etc. is stored on, Windows 10 as my OS. Here's a picture of my overwrite folder: Please help
cumbrianlad
I don't want to be rude, but SSeedit doesn't mess up, in all of the thousands of times I've used it. Tell us more precisely what you want to do and we may be able to help. I'm not familiar with an 'overwrite' folder. I always edit the esp that's in the Data folder, either in CK or SSeedit. SSeedit is set to make backups of the plugin so I can revert changes if I make a mistake. If I'm at all concerned about intended changes to the esp I make a manual backup before I do them. It sounds like SSeedit is simply opening up the unchanged esp from the data folder.
Grospolina
The files that you're showing in the red box are from each time you saved. Each file is simply the ESP renamed with ".save.yyyy_mm_dd_hh_mm_ss" appended to it. So you should just be able to copy and rename your latest one to DialogueTweaks.esp to get it back. My theory is that you were hitting Ctrl+S to save your changes (which created those files), but you neglected to actually save it over your working version when you closed the program. When you close SSEEdit, it opens a dialogue to ask you if you want to save. If you cancel out of it, then it's gone. If you do save it, then it keeps a backup of the previous version in the SSEEdit Backups folder (unless you untick the checkbox for backups). The behaviour is a bit unconventional, but once you get use to it, it's pretty efficient.
cumbrianlad
Ah! pleased you sorted it. I couldn't understand but I suppose I'm just that used to SSEedit I didn't think of that.
brackett666
I am trying to take out iron and steel weapons textures from Vanilla Armor Replacers mod. I right click and hit remove. When it prompts me to save, I press ok. It even mentions in Vortex that there was a change in the ESP, however, non of the textures revert back. Im not understanding what it is im doing wrong.
