skyrim crashing to desktop

Everytime I install a nexus mod it crashes right after the Bethesda logo. This happens with every mod, doesn't matter which one. It doesn't crash with the workshop mods, but it does when i install a nexus mod manager mod. this would never happen before.

Well I'll take a few shots in the dark here as you don't give a lot of info it may not be the best advice. Trying BOSS and Wyre Bash may help, I am assuming your using both Steam mods and Nexus mods (typically they are identical mods just hosted in different places) if this is the case chances are it has to do with load order. Neither steam nor nexus automaticlly place the mod for you, you download it with Steam or NMM and it loads at the bottom of the list. BOSS will revise your load order and tell if you there are problems. Wyre Bash will help you merge mods that are moddifying some of the same things to help clean up the process. You almost definitely also have dirty edits (identical master records, item files etc) so TESVEdit may be something to look into for that as well. I personally don't like using mods on Steam because they auto-update weather you like it or not and sometimes when mods update they can cause new conflicts etc.

I would highly advise posting a list of mods your using in the order your loading them and system specs so people can have a better idea what your working with.

Anytime. I have had my fair share (and am currently having) of headaches related to mod issues. I love these forums because it seems someone always thinks of something I don't and helps me fix the issue. I learned the hard way to BOSS Wyre Bash TES5Edit whenever I add something new.

Here is a link to my troubleshooting blog.

http://s1.zetaboards.com/bbenlibrary/topic/4751769/1/#new

This is updated often so come back later for more.

If you use any of this and have some success - or even if nothing works - please post back here what you did that worked or didn't work. That kind of information can be invaluable to other members having the same or similar problems - And to me in fixing any problems in the blog.

i followed your troubleshooting link bben and it just lead me in a big circle =/

the problem im having at the moment is using BASH i can install mods and the plugin shows as expected, but NMM only shows the plug-in, the install package doesnt look installed tho i know it is, its making a mess of my mods. is this something that can even be fixed? or is this just "the nature of the beast" so to speak?
