Type 11 lmg?

The Type 11 isn't known for accuracy or for being deadly. What the Type 11 is known for is being an unreliable piece of crap. There's a reason they replaced it with the Type 96.

As far as accuracy goes, the Type 11had a short barrel and a poor flash suppressor design. The excessive muzzle flash made it difficult to aim and tended to blind the shooter a bit under low light conditions. They ended up switching to less powerful ammo to reduce the muzzle flash, making the Type 11 less deadly than it could have been.

The ammo hopper is also mounted on the side of the Type 11, which makes the Type 11 rather unbalanced when fully loaded. The funny looking bent buttstock on the Type 11 is an effort to compensate for this, but having to deal with an unbalanced weapon does have a negative impact on the weapon's accuracy.

To be fair, any light machine gun is going to be deadly, and the Type 11 works fine as long as you are meticulous about keeping it clean. Most of its problems come from the ammunition hopper. It's a neat idea, and allows any member of the squad to feed it ammunition, but it's design makes it very easy for dirt and debris to get into the gun through the hopper, causing jams, misfeeds, and other issues. In the dirty and dusty environment of Fallout, the Type 11 would be an unreliable nightmare.

That said, it's a game, not reality. There are plenty of mods with weapons that don't quite match their real world counterparts.

Poke around on sites like sketchfab or turbosquid. If you can find a free 3d model that someone has already made, that would make the creation of this mod significantly less difficult and time consuming.

The .308 is reasonably close to the 6.5x50mm Arisaka round. The Arisaka is about 140 grains and about 2600j of energy, compared to about 160 grains for a typical .308 and 3500j of energy. You are going to want to reduce the damage from the Type 11 compared to other .308 weapons since the round isn't as powerful. You also might want to look at some of the various caliber mods to see if they have anything closer.

There are no hopper-style reloading animations in FNV. You'll probably have to accept one of the existing reload animations.
