DreamSinSmoke
Is there any chance someone can make a mod that makes the beds you can't activate/use like the ones in the run down portion or vault 81 where you find curie usable. This is particularly frustrating on survival when you see a bed but can't catch a much needed save.
Zorkaz
No, they are static and often implemented into the precombined meshes. Changing it would cause issues. But I get it.
pra
No, they are static and often implemented into the precombined meshes. Changing it would cause issues. But I get it.You could actually get away with it. Basically, place invisible "real" beds on top of the statics. Or literally just invisible boxes scripted to give you the "rest" option. Zorkaz
I thought of that option. Thing is do you really want to do it for I guess 50 objects?!
DreamSinSmoke
I never thought they weren't real beds or part of the precombines. I just wanted to find a way to be able to prevent losing hours of progress on survival without using "cheat" mods. I know you can save on survival but I'll admit that always turns into save abuse. pra
I thought of that option. Thing is do you really want to do it for I guess 50 objects?!I don't. I'm just saying it's doable in general :P And, meh. I don't consider it cheating. The game was never meant for "sleep to save", it's not designed for that. Also, it's a Bethesda game, crashing is more common than death.
SKKmods
Complete this sentence; Slavishly adhering to a base game mechanic that causes entertainment frustration due to its own defects is like ... Given that sleeping bags are generally known to be portable, a portable sleeping bag would seem to be a solution which aligns with the base game intent, physics, lore, immHurshun usw. Zorkaz
It's not a bad idea though. If someone with patience comes along this mod might be possible. It's just that after making "Some Trees" I don't have any intention of hand-placing tons of items. A very good mod I can recommend to you is "Sleep on couches"https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/24944
DreamSinSmoke
You all make good points, thanks. I guess it's more in my head than anything. If I can put down a sleeping bag to save I'll do it all the time and make survival too easy. Really with the increase in damage you do the limit on saving is the only thing that makes survival harder. At least that's how I feel.
Zorkaz
Yep. Again check out the sofa mod. That one helps a lot. If there isn't a usable bed there often is a sofa
