TheTerminator2004
I have to say, that does look pretty neat. Kinda like an EEEPC, but smaller, less powerful, and with some joysticks added. Also cheaper. Looks like a good deal, but there are a few major issues which need mentioning - not only is it Linux-based, which limits the software options available, but its a highly-optimised, embedded version of linux, which may well not contain the libraries needed to run many programs - things like libSDL, which is used by many games to handle graphics and sound. The other, even more major problem, is that it has an ARM processor, not a standard x86 one, like a normal PC - programs wont run on it at all, unless specifically compiled for that type of processor, and even on Linux, the majority of programs released arent compiled for these. This limits you to mostly only being able to use what the developers or other people port themselves, and porting programs onto is often easier said than done. There are several excellent N64 emulators available for Linux, but as it says on the Pandora wiki, these are difficult to port, and so it may be a long while until one is available. So, all in all, it is an excellent system, with a lot of potential - especially with a bit of linux know-how, it could do a lot of things. But you might want to think about what you want it for, and check there actually are programs available to do it first - there may well not be. wow, I only meant to write a couple of lines... didnt mean for it to turn into an essay
