My e-mailaddress for the Nexus was used by somebody else

I used a custom e-mailaddress signing up to this site. Never used it anywhere else. Four days ago this e-mailaddress was used to create a Netflix account. I didn't even know creating a Netflix account was possible without a payment method. I would like to know how this happened. I cannot reply to Important Security Notice for some reason. Is this related?

I had no idea this account was that old. Sorry for the implied conspiracy, I thought the timing of the security notice and this event was related. Thanks for clearing this up!
