Fallout Crashing on Startup w/mods

start with all mods unchecked, Just the main file alone. See if it loads there. IF so, exit the game and load all 5 DLC's only

And here we have the problem. Previously the only way I have fixed this is by actually completely uninstalling the mods. THEN it works. Otherwise, no.

I tried just unchecking everything, but it crashed. Before, I uninstalled a FOIP patch before it worked. Thoughts?

EDIT: I went through and one-by-one uninstalled mods. I started the game with the DLC, too. I did not reinstall the previously uninstalled mods after it crashed...

1:FOIP-crashed

2:MMM-crashed

3:FWE(HOTFIX)-crashed

4:FWE-Fallout Wanderers Edition (not the part 1 or 2, not the HOTFIX)-SUCCESS

Just as a reference - for FWE to function by itself, which files do I need from Nexus to have installed and activated?

EDIT 2: I began to reinstall the mods, starting with the "smallest" mods, starting the game up after each one or after each set of mods.

The game crashed when I installed the FOIP for FWE+MMM. I uninstalled that again, and tried to reinstall FWE (the one that had success earlier-the last mod I had left to reinstall).

The game still crashed. So, the mods that are currently crashing the game are FOIP-MMM+FWE and FWE - FO3 Wanderers Edition.

Fallout Wanderers Edition, you need Part 1, Part 2 and the Hotfix. You must read the ReadMe and follow the instructions to the letter in order for it to work. Do not try to do an automatic install with NMM.

Your learning and now understand what the problem is. NOTE: some mods require earlier versions so later ones overwrite them, as later ones will not have all of the information. The read mes and description pages take the author ....time to write. Thought is taken in most made for your benefit. I out lined and took the time because you asked for help, it has shown you where and the what was the cause. "ISOLATED" now, if foip is the one item that messes up the system, don't use the nexus mod manager to install the mods with, Use the fallout mod manager, FOMM. you will run into other mods that will conflict with FWE also but at least you know now How to isolate a given set of problems. We all make choices, some good, some not so good. Look over the nexus catagories and chose what you might like. Install Just FWE and all it;s stuff and play the game for a bit. Then look for cool things to put into the game. I run FWE + MMM + Project beauty and a few others and never used foip. never needed it. But to be fair, I had help, so I return it here.

Good to see you got it figured out now.

Kitty.
