spacerogue
The thing is ; I know what your talking about, and you mean it well ! But as you might have noticed ,the ppl who make the mods you might be talking about aren't really horny teens, and I think allot of the times women make clothes FOR women. And I was wondering what exactly you might see as porn ... I'v been a long time around the OB community and havent seen anything really nasty. anyway, the moral of this post , don't like it; down download. Completely right, and I'll leave it at that :whistling: There's nothing else to add.I was wrong when I said it's only lil' kiddos. Fact.I know better know. Still, I won't download these mods. But that's my free choice.
WoogieMonster
... I play video games to enjoy the world of Fallout in this case, not to watch boobs and stuff... I had hoped there would be a few souls who have the same opinion on this, but obviously, there aren't. I tried, I failed, that simple. You play your game for your own reasons, we all play our games for our own reasons. Nobody is right and nobody is wrong, for the most part. What you may not pick up on is that a lot of people here do feel the way you do, in fact not long ago I used to be at the forefront of the "keep your porn out of my game" crowd. Over time I realized that the issue was much bigger than me, the Nexus, or Oblivion. You see, where the real problem truly occurs is that the instant someone (the horny folks) gives in to the moral standards of others, then those others will also be forced to give in to the moral standards of yet another group (Senator Clinton, Jack Thompson, etc). Then we'll all be stuck talking about that new cowboy hat and saddle mod for Barbie's Horse Adventures. Or the new glowing seaweed mod for Sponge Bob Squarepants. Everything else will be banned. Suddenly, stripping off someone's armor and seeing that they lack underwear really doesn't seem so bad.

Skotte
<snip> It is the perfect home for the hormon filled teenager, who downloads 40GB's of porn a day and enjoys %&$!ing off to video game characters. While I agree that some nudity fits in a game, especially Fallout, there is just too much of that in Oblivion. More than 60% of all mods are -nude- mods, or -sexy superskimpy clothing- mods. It's just too much. The ocean of "sexy" mods for Oblivion is swelling and still growing, and has already flooded the continent. <snip> I am curious as to how you got such a high % figured? Sillius
I more-or-less agree with the OP. He didn't say that people shouldn't be allowed to do what they want, just that he hoped that they wouldn't make so many juvenile outfits. Seeing as how there were plenty of anime-themed and generally erotic outfits made for Oblivion, I wouldn't get my hopes up. On the other hand, I have sometimes enjoyed seeing the creativity that people put into mods that I myself would never use.
Michlo
I hope skilled modders will share whatever they are passionate about with the community. If someone creates something I have no interest in, I will not download the mod. Precisely the point. I don't care for the revealing "armour" either so I don't download it (OK, I did use a couple of AlienSlof's for my personal attendant in Oblivion, heh but I wasn't RP'ing sex, just eye candy) but I definitely do like the body replacer mods (I've only used Robert's) for their realism and for RP (people don't usually go to bed in full armour, after all). Hmm, too many brackets there, methinks. heh Cheers.
macmert
Well I am glad that you get it off your chest, you have every right to complain about nudity in video games generally... But this is a free world, I mean I dont want to watch Beyonce hopping up and down on MTV, I would like to see Megadeth or Iron Maiden on MTV 24/7, but MTV only offers me heavy metal once or twice a week (Headbangers Ball and Super Rock) so what do I do, I turn off the damn TV :) But if someone is forcing you to download these nude mods and force you to install it, now you have every right to oppose it :D But I dont think that is the case, right? :D So enjoy your game, download the stuff you like, download porn, heck download a nuke blueprint if you like, but remember, it is a matter of choice... so choose not to download something if you dont want it... :)
gandalftw
The thing that confuses me is why some get so riled up over things other people do.I've read umpteen posts condemning nude or sexy type mods and the people that make and use them. When something upsets me,i find,i have to look inward to reason why,not attack some projection that only triggered the upset. For instance, everything has a value. That value is not inherent or static,it is given a value by the individual viewing it.The value a thing is given is directly related to the psychological, emotional, intellectual position the observer finds themselves in.Conditioning has a lot to do with the value, good or bad, one gives to everything in ones world. In the process of individuation, through continued life experience, one either accepts or rejects, adds or subtracts from ones base conditioning.Therefor we are all the same,in that we must decide for ourselves what values we give to the outside world and the constructs therein. So,why do the values of others threaten us so much that we find ourselves either attacking or ridiculing them?Is it possible that the values that upset us are in fact values in flux or in danger of collapse within ourselves?I don't know, all i know is that i decided to in my early years to attempt to maintain an open minded viewpoint when it comes to the values and opinions of others, yet i find myself sometimes threatened, however i now know that those values are not an actual threat but a perceived one.The answer is not to change or condemn others, rather to look within to better understand ourselves. ElricVonRabenfels
I'm not against nude parts in games. I'm not even against sex in games. I don't need it, but I don't mind if it's included. But-I-mind-if-there-are-10000-mods-for-sexy-female-clothing-outThe thing that really upsets me about this particular issue is simply the sheer amount of 'sexy' clothes made for female characters. And I don't want Fallout 3 to suffer the same plague. Yes, I know now, that not all users/modders who make use of them are horny teenage boys ;)But I still fear half of the mods of Fallout 3 will be about female clothing in half a year. I just don't want that to happen. I failed with blaming someone for the issue (Who's to blame anyway, personal preference), but I still don't like the idea of tons of ubersexyskimpyclothing being made for Fallout 3. A few ist just ENOUGH! Not amounts like in Oblivion. That's just too much. I think the main point that annoys me is that I may have to browse trough dozens of ubersexyskimpyclothing mods, before I see another 'normal' mod that I would be interested in. And yes, that happened to me with TESNexus. The latest files are ALWAYS mostly 'newsexysavegamesorclothingoranimations' and so on. At least that's what happened to me. Maybe that changed, since I gave up on checking TESNexus regulary. And by the way, Kudos for your post Gandalf :)
