wienerinmabutthole
I just started playing Fallout NV again (great f***ing game) and i have NMM but cant log in, I could just do manual and drag files into data but that sometimes doesn't work I have a ton of mods that don't show up in FNV startup except a few and I'm also wondering how to put in quest mods like war trash that's just sitting in my files doing nothing. Update: How do I change zipped files to a .esm in the data folder Edited March 1, 2020 by wienerinmabutthole
mysteriousman121
NMM is no longer officially supported by nexusmods. So either switch over to a new mod manager, like Vortex the new officially supported mod manager or alternatively Mod organiser 2(aka MO2).Or if you insist on continuing to use NMM you can find a community updated version on Github. However I advice not going with this option as NMM's file management system is archaic compared to the 2 mod managers I just mentioned and will likely cause issues unless you install mods in a very specific order. M48A5
Yes, Nexus Mod Manager is not supported by Nexus Mods, but is still supported and updated on Github. If you want to take an online course on how to use a mod manager and jump through hoops to get mods working, then switch to Vortex. But be sure to read all the instructions and watch all the videos and then read the Vortex Support forum before installing Vortex. Do the same for Mod Organizer. If you want a simple to understand and use mod manager for Fallout: New Vegas, then download and install the latest version of FOMM.
dubiousintent
As suggested, you need to either switch to another mod manager or at least upgrade to the community supported version of NMM. (The API used by older versions of NMM has been turned off.) I recommend anyone read the entire "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article to understand the differences between this game and others you may have experience with; especially if this is your first attempt to play a modded FNV or it's been more than a year since you last did so. It is designed for someone who has never played a modded PC game before, so it tries to avoid making any assumptions, is kept "up-to-date", and covers years of "lessons learned". The question of "mod manager choices" is addressed (with links) in a section in that article. As for your question about ESM and ZIP files, please see the "Terminology" section of that article. The "ESM" and "ESP" files are "packed" inside of the ZIP archive. You have to "unpack" the contents to see the individual files. Most mod managers handle this for you, but they can always be unpacked manually with the correct tool (which have to be installed in order for the mod managers to use them anyway).-Dubious-
luciusaries
I still use it and it works just fine. But then I'm fairly old school and understand how it works. I keep copies of all mods I download on my hard drive and just install those offline. YMMV.
