BigKevSexyMan
I'm just curious, would anyone actually play skyrim this way? So you can only die once? I'm thinking I might work on this as soon as my other mod is done, but I want to gauge the reaction of the community to see if it's worthwhile first. steve40
Well, there's no way in the CK, Papyrus or SKSE to stop the user from making saving games, and there's no way to delete them either. You can prevent access to the menus, but it blocks all menus at once. So I would think that you would have to create some sort of custom external program like SKSE to achieve this. silentx3ro
I've done this a few times with some of my more recent characters. Play at the hardest difficulty, timescale set to 2 and I only allow myself to save in my home or an inn and don't use fast travel. If the character dies at any point I burn the saves and start fresh. I'm looking at using a realistic needs type mod on my next run too. The only frustrating thing is the thing that kills me most often is my own stupidity rather than any particular enemy. (I've burned saves after falling down a mountain several times!) But if there was a mod that did the above I would definitely use it because sometimes I do find myself cheating (using fast travel) or reloading a save point. :P Edited December 2, 2012 by silentx3ro
garland81
That would be interesting to do. Hard too. Save only at home and rest points. Turning off all auto saves. Set player character to the essential kneel stance permanently upon defeated or something.
JakeDragon555
Could you add something in an ini file that keeps track of the names and if you die it updates Then anytime you load a save with that characters name the game runs a script and you just die. Perhaps you could have a super assassin walk up behind you and cut off your head :D or use coc and drop you off a cliff or put you in a room full of daedra Room full of daedra would be like going to hell for not finishing your quests I wouldn't play this way because I don't play at that level and don't really have time to grind a character up from the ground and not die. mindw0rk2
Im playing such way now. Along with many mods that make it even more challenging (deadly traps, tougher combat, epic dragons, NPCs use potions and perks, prices are much higher, no fast travel, more and deadly spawns). My archer is 34 level atm, 0 deaths. If you dont have will to delete saves yourself, you can use this mod: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16311Choose preset where you loose all gear if you die. BigKevSexyMan
Well, deleting the saves would be the main portion of this mod, so you can't reload. I can make a program that could check the saves for the name of the character that died, and delete them. The only issue I'm having trouble thinking of a solution for is communicating from skryim to the deletion program.
