I suggest using an alternate start mod instead of that save, because it's from the day the game came out and Skyrim has had many major updates since then.

that didn't work, there's still no dialogue, and when you talk to them, there's subtitles but no sound.

 

I think this might have something to do with how I attempted to uninstall Enderal by deleting a bunch of files, 'cause when I go to validate files via steam, it ALWAYS tells me that "1 file failed to validate and will be reaquired"

 

EDIT: fixed it, the ini files were the issue

Glad you got it fixed, and sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Yes, an improper uninstallation of Enderal will cause many issues. One file will always fail Steam's validation though. That is normal.
