Bug: head is missing when wearing hazmat suit. Any ideas why?

So yeah, I'm running into an odd bug when I'm wearing hazmat suit. My head (instead the suit dome) is missing. If I'm wearing glasses sometimes those still show up. Any ideas why my head has gone all invis on me? NOTE: this only happens with the hazmat suit.

Heyas Lazlo. Ok that is just freaky.

While I can understand that it would be very seriously bad in your game, that would actually be pretty cool for some of these suspenseful, scary mods! Do the textures with a slight bit of transparency and have headless ghosts! :D

Ok, so anyway. Basically what you've got going on, is the helmet for the suit is causing the face to disappear, the same way that some hats/helmets will cause the hair to disappear.

Are you using Any mods that affect the head mesh? Like alternative race mods or beautification mods like the oni face parts?

If it's the latter, it might be a case of the new face/head (LOL! I typo'd that as "dead"! Here we go with the ghosts again!) additions being set as an incompatible body slot with the slot the helmet uses. Which is a lot more common in games like this, where a wide range of "layered" body slots are used by the game engine.

Or, are you using any mods that use a different mesh (this includes CBBE tho I dunno of any problems with that one) or the body slot settings for the hazmat?

What's making me think that this is the issue is because you said that other wearables in that area can still be visible.

I used CBBE and hair mods commonly. I just started using the Looksmenu presets and such as of this playthrough, but the vanishing head issue has been going on for some time now.

Hmm. So no mods that attach themselves to the face/head like oni parts or other race mods. Check that off the list then.

CBBE has it's own sets of clothes, and alters them per preset, which I was wondering about might be the problem. Tho I'm using them too and I don't have the problem with the hazmat suit. Tho I'm using the "vanilla" cbbe clothes.

Hrm.

Do these characters have anything like facial tattoos, or mod added makeup?

Any non-vanilla skins that you're using?

Does it still do it if the character has a vanilla hairstyle?

Is it both genders, or just one?

Is the character wearing anything other than the hazmat suit when this happens?

Load all your active mods in FO4Edit. In the upper left corner you can see FormID and an empty field next to it. Type CEAC4 and press Enter. This will select the Armor records for Hazmat Suit. Look at he right part of the screen, the view tab, where you can see fallout4.esm and all the plugins that edit the hazmat suit. It shows also what they change. Take a look at the BOD2-Biped Body Template. These are all the slots that the outfit takes up. For vanilla and AWKCR, the hazmat suit takes slots 30 to 49, with the exception of 32-Facegen head. For Armomsmith Extended(AE) this is 33,34,35 and 46.

Vanilla + transparency for the glass of hazmat helmet = invisible head, visible eyelashes only. Vanilla + AWKCR + AE + transparency for the glass of hazmat helmet = visible head and hair, also can wear glasses and other accessories. Maybe the default slots are used, but the glasses that you equipped don't take slot 47-Eyes.

What slots does the hazmat suit use in your game? Edit: Or rather is it changed by any mod?

Edit: Can't think of anything else. It's likely related to the body slots. Either it is using vanilla or a mod changes those, but not quite like AE does. And at the same time you have mod that makes the helmet see through, like real glass. One of or a combinations of slots are making the face invisible.
