Fixed an issue, caused new problems

Alright. So I finally solved an issue I had with the Steam Overlay not working with FO3. It was a simple fix. Renaming the FalloutLauncher and fose_loader .EXEs. I now simply launch from Steam and use "getfoseversion" to confirm I have FOSE installed. Says version: 1. But now when I load a save, it says it relies on missing content. I had EVE installed, WMK, and Project Reality. I think all 3 aren't working now. I'm assuming my altering of the FOSE_Loader name messed something up? Also, the game seems to lock up for whatever reason inside Regulator HQ after several seconds. Audio plays, game just doesn't respond.

But what exactly? And what can I do to get things working again?

Why are you using a steam overlay? It isn't necessary. Fallout 3 was never a steam game. It was a game for windows live game. Steam is only a vendor of the game like Walmart or Best Buy.

What mod manager are you using?

Also, please see "How to ask for help" https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/How_to_ask_for_help and provide all the information noted there.

HUH? I own the game on Steam. So it's a Steam game. Why wouldn't I use the Steam Overlay. And it doesn't log play hours, either. I'm using MO2. Everything worked fine until I changed the name of the fose_loader exe as advised by countless people who want to launch the game with FOSE and have the Steam overlay, plus have hours logged. I use the getfoseversion command and it detects that I have FOSE installed. Only now, my mods requiring it no longer work.

Current update's made on the Steam systems will prevent Fose from running.

the facts that there is no hour count means the game is not seen BY steam.

you add the loader as a non steam game in order for it to run the game using the overlay.

Steam sells all games by other vendors, it may be provided to the public By steam but it is NOT a steam made game, just sold under their licenses.

GOG.com sells a version of the game that has had all the DRM removed, yet still, the source of the game sold was intended as a XBOX game made compatible for PC's by these vendors.

Fose is seen as a non game engine. it's acts as an overlay so the system does not see the actual game engine. Changes a lot of stuff.

Disqualifies achievements.

Your choice is run a default game to gain achievements or run an IT built engine assembly to plays the resources of the game. you can't have it both ways.
