steamin661
Hey all, This is a continuation of a previous post, as I do not believe this is a Hardware issue (maybe?) but a game issue. Here is the Original Post: : http://www.overclock.net/t/1333766/speckles-on-screen-when-playing-game0 Can anyone help with this?I have been playing Skyrim since day one (one year) and never had this happen before. All of the sudden last night I noticed some small lights (speckles) flickering in dark areas. After a while of playing I noticed it ONLY happens in dark areas with a lot of shadows, ONLY in interiors. They are no specific color; they come in white, red, green, blue. The speckles flicker rapidly, becoming more prevalent with movement. They are hard to get a picture of, as they flash just for a second. Here is some basic info and what I have done so far:- I run a Radeon 6970- Monitored my GPU temp (after stress test did not ever exceed 76c). Thats not really too high and has been this temp for the last year.- Unplugged my monitor cable and re-installed it.- Updated Driver to the newest Beta (12.12 AMD)- Rolled back Driver (12.8 AMD)- Under-clocked my GPU- Disabled ALL Mods which may effect lighting (ENB, Realistic Lighting, etc.)- (set settings to Low)- Set Shadow Quality all the way down Why I dont think it is a Hardware issue:- I have ran two different stress tests on my GPU (FurMark 1.9.2 and OCCT); both passed with flying colors (that was a relief)- I have played two other Games and cannot seem to replicate this issue (Bioshock and Legends of Grimrock, both dark games)- I have underclocked my GPU- Updated Drivers (as well as rolled back drivers). To make things even weirder, I have done a complete new install and am still having the issue (with no mods) WTF!? Any Ideas??? Xescream
You have already done just about all of the things I would have recommended. All signs indicate it is a driver issue on AMD's end. Please remember that since GPU's are such complicated technology every GPU has its own quirks. Skyrim is notorious with drivers, if I look at nvidia inspector skyrim has special bits for nearly all of its features. It clearly is a compatibility mess. I am very sorry, I honestly don't think that there is anything that can be done.

Blackthorrn
It's probably a memory leak in your graphics card, just starting out. It could get way worse overtime, keep an eye on it.
