DonFulano
Hi all, sorry for post again. But hopefully this has a simple solution...I've added in a modified item, copying it from the Fallout4.esm. I'm not adding it into the worldspace, just using the console to give it to myself. However, when I add it (using additem or placeatme), it then disappears from my inventory when reloading the save. How do I fix it? I've been googling this but haven't found a solution Thanks!
StormWolf01
Heyas again Don. Don't worry about how often ya post. The more we get to know ya around here, the better. ;)That's a wierd one tho. I wonder, is this something that you borrowed from Fallout 76? Haha, ok sorry. What kind of item is it? Like, a weapon, armor, or consumable, spell activator, something else? This one kinda stumps me. But one thing I wanna mention. Is take note of how much weight you are carrying before you spawn in the item, and how much weight your carrying after you pick it up. This will tell you if it's actually not staying in your inventory, or if it's just disappearing from what your pip boy can "see" in your list. DonFulano
Haha I actually havenât played 76, though Iâve wondered if I should give it a shot. So, itâs a modified form/copy of the Newsboy Cap. Hm, I could check the weight to see if its staying in my inventory, but hidden - it weighs 0.4 so visually itâd be hard to tell - is there a console command to display current carry weight (in decimals)? StormWolf01
The quickest way to check would be to do just a real fast change of the weight. Instead to 0.4 to 4.0 then back again after the test.I dunno of any scripts that tell you your inventory like that. Could definitely be one, but I dunno it. Hmmm. A cap shouldn't be something that would delete. Is this related to the mod that you're talking about with Robotized in your other thread? Ohhh! Wait a sec. Is this mod you're making as a separate plugin? If so, does your CK or Xedit match the version number for the game that you're playing? If not, it could be that compatibility glitch where mods don't load right if the header numbers don't match the game version. The whole 1.0 to version .162-163 and 0.950000 to version ~.138 Heh. Well, as far as 76 goes. 1) You can't mod it. if you're caught modding it, Beth will ban your account, and you paid for something you can't play anymore. So not only does that mean that we can't make our own tweaks and adjustments to it, we also can't FIX it. That's something bugthesda has never had to deal with before. Fixing their own freaking mess. It's buggy. All the new patches they release, just introduce new bugs.It's... very hackable. The game security... just from what I hear... so take this with a big grain of salt. But there's constantly new exploits and hacks being found for the game. Lots of them being where people can steal other people's loot and scrap. And Beth will not replace the lost items. (Which I'm not faulting them for. I've been in the staff on game servers. The lost items, not the game's problem. How they got taken... that might be. Which in this case, HOW it was, due to hacks, definitely is beth's problem!)I dunno. I'm very, very VERY biased against Bethesda...particularly over how they've done this whole 76 thing from the very outset. Which, yes... some of that I really do attribute to their parent company just being a money-hungry evil villain. But in my mind, it is the final straw for me with butthesda. DonFulano
Yah it’s related to my other thread! Just trying a different approach now to making invisible helmets.Iâll check the version! I had heard about that issue, I wonder if that could be itHaha I love all your nicknames for bethesda. Itâs been disappointing to hear everything going on with 76... I had wanted to try it just to explore the locations, but I wouldn’t want to deal with the bugs and hacks going on edit: not sure why my apostrophes are showing up as different characters... StormWolf01
LOL Yeah, I've seen that with apostrophes all over the forums. Dunno why it gets some of us and doesn't others. Might be interference from the different browser/browser plugins. I've been using Opera based browsers and I haven't been hit by it. I'll profess that I have a curiosity to test some of the new weapons, and some of the other stuff in the game. And my roomie did rent it for his ps4 from a redbox for a couple of days, a few weeks after release. LOL Yeah, they've earned quite a few nicknames for themselves over the years. :D "Earned" along with their reputation for buggy games. Have you heard about their $100 a year premium subscription? The plan that lets you have access to a whole bunch of extra stuff (that they had previously stated they COULDN'T put into regular game because of engine limitations)? Like the unlimited storage box. That EATS whatever you put in it. Sure! Here's a hundred dollars, delete my stuff for me!Or the "private servers" that ended up being private instancing. Which, when released... wasn't private. People were logging in to them to find that there was dead spawn all over the place from previous users. Or the "Private" server, that other people could still get into.Ok so I'm ranting. Sorry about that. Any headway on figuring out if it's still disappearing from inventory?

So my Fallout 4 version is 1.10.163.0 and it looks like my xEdit version is 4.0.3.0 -- are these compatible? I could also be looking at the wrong thing I'd read about the subscription/private server stuff... it's crazy
StormWolf01
The version of Xedit that you're running is the latest version, and was released after the november/december updates to the game. So yeah, there shouldnt be any incompatibilities there. Another thing for you to check, and I just thought of this. Is make sure that your game is loading your mod on the restart. Check the ingame mod manager supplied by the game, and make sure that when you are starting again that it's in the load order, and set as active. Dunno (for absolute sure) WHY some people's games are doing that, but sometimes, some people's games are not keeping their load order right.IF the game is resetting the load order on the restart, go into your Plugins.txt file C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Fallout4 XXX will be whatever user name you use to log into the computer. It's just a regular text file, so you shouldnt have any problems with a program on your computer to open it.And then manually set is as an active plugin in your load order. The active plugins are denoted by having an asterisk as part of the filename. Yeah, I have a feeling that the paid membership thing is gonna end up biting bugthesda pretty hard.
