Dawngaurd Quest Bugged?

SO.

I'm trying to find the Moth Priest. A guard in Dragonbridge said to head south along the road across the bridge. Shortly after crossing the bridge it said "completed: search along the road south of dragonbridge". "Investigate the attack".

WHAT ATTACK?

The journal says that I APPARENTLY "found an overturned wagon, along with some dead vampires and imperial guards". There is now a quest marker on the HUD. That quest maker simply points at middle of the road, with no "overturned wagon" in sight.

DERP.

After looking around for quite some time, I've found no signs of any corpses or a wagon anywhere near the quest marker. It feels as if there should be an "overturned wagon" where the quest marker is. However it just points at the road; this leads me to believe the quest may be bugged.

HELP?

In both play through's I had this "bug" too the quest updates long before it should and if you follow the quest marker you can/will miss the wrecked wagon.

The solution for me was just stay on the road until you reach the bridge. That way you will find the wagon.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it turns out my quest really was f***ed up. I watch a playthrough of Dawnguard on youtube; where the quest marker was for me, there SHOULD have been an overturned wagon and lots of bodies. The wagon simply have not been placed in my world. :\

The only solution I found for this was to spawn in the "Vampire's Note" to continue the quest. [item code xx006E58]

EDIT:

Well, that was SUPPOSED to work. But it didn't. Turns out that reading the Vampire's Note doesn't actually progress the quest any further. :\

EDIT 2:

So I've been messing around with the console for about a hour now, and still haven't managed to fix this broken quest. There is simply no corpse to search for a note that won't do anything unless found on said corpse.

I'm completely open to suggestions at this point. Anyone?

@Bradster123456: Pick a save game from before you started the quest. Have this quest as the only active quest in your journal once you start the quest. Fast travel to every destination on the quest. When you get to Dragonbridge and talk to the guard, walk from the village to the marker where the overturned wagon is. I actually had the same bug the first time through. This is what got me through. Something about the fast travel worked, like it does for some of the other game quest bugs.

If this doesn't work. You should probably post your mods in load order, if you need further help on a mod conflict. Also, do you have the unofficial skyrim patch and the unofficial dawnguard patch? It may not be necessary, but it might help. :) Try the fast travel first.

having the load order in alphabetical order doesn't really help. & i have really no idea here, but just a shot in the dark; try disabling the the no quest items mod and running a save from before the quest starts, might be worth a try. though i really don't know what i'm talking about in any case.
