On your own computer you can have whatever music you want.

However for uploading we have a very strict no copyrighted music without the author's explicit permission. ALL music on the internet is copyrighted - those free music sites are putting out copyrighted music. NO MATTER WHAT THEY CLAIM! And we could be prosecuted for allowing it to be uploaded here.

Some music composers do allow free use of their work, but we do prefer showing credit for them as well as the documentation that proves it's allowed. And "My friend said it's OK" or "The site I got it from says it's free." doesn't cut it here.

One misconception is that just because the Oblivion music is from the same company as Skyrim it must be OK - Not so. The oblivion music is copyrighted by Jeremy Sole (the composer) for the exclusive use by BethSoft in the Oblivion Game - putting that music into another game (Skyrim) without his permission is copyright violation. For it to be allowed, Bethsoft - must make an agreement with the author (Jeremy Sole) to use that music in another game.

Well... if you already own both games, I guess nothing prevents you from moving music from one to another. You already own the right to use it.

You just can't distribute the music as a mod for example for Skyrim, because people not owning Oblivion might use it too.

It's just like using a different player for same product.
