RedMachine1972
Recently purchased New Vegas Ultimate Edition and went to install it. Decided to do a clean install and redo my mods as I wanted a different experience. Long story short is that NV refuses to work with the extracted files such as meshes and textures. Need it to work with these as a lot of mods have to have these extracted in order to install. Worked just fine before with the extracted files, now no go. No mods at all, just the extracted files. I will be gratfull for any help/advice on this problem. Problem solved. Went thru and made 2 folders for the Textures and Textures2 .bsa's and compared. Forgot that when you extract Textures2 it makes it's own textures folder inside of the texures folder and the game can't read it. Just had to move all the folders in the 2nd textures folder to the main one. Gonna leave this in case someelse does the same and hopefully will find this usefull. luthienanarion
Long story short is that NV refuses to work with the extracted files such as meshes and textures.Do not do this. They are packed into BSA archives for a a handful of reasons. Need it to work with these as a lot of mods have to have these extracted in order to install. This is completely false. No mod will ever require that you extract vanilla assets because of how file invalidation works. I don't know where you got this idea, but have fun with it.
