Vanilla folowers wont follow after installing a follower mod?

So I downloaded and installed the Fenrir wolf follower mod (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13184) and it worked fine. I unpacked all the files and put them in my skyrim/data folder (When I copy+pasted the mod files to the data folder, it said the "There is already a file named ____. Would you like to replace? -yes- -yes to all-" and i yes to all'd)

So I was using the mod and (before dismissing him) decided to uncheck the mod in my data files upon skyrim start up, and now no followers will follow me. I ask them to follow me, they say they will (note that when they say they will, there is no audio for them saying this, only subtitles) but then it is as if I never asked them. I talk to them again and the option to ask them to follow is still there.

I enabled the fenrir follower mod again, asked him to follow me, and he did follow just fine like normal. I dismissed him and asked someone else to follow me, same result they wont follow.

Why is Fenrir the ONLY one who will follow me now? How can I fix this?

The only mods I've ever used are Hearthfire, Friendly Brynjolf, Better hunting Prices and Fenrir Wolf follower.

In simple straightforward series of events:

Downloaded mod >

Copied all files from the mod into skyrim/data >

Clicked "Yes to all" when asking if some files should be replaced > went into skyrim >Used fenrir as a follower for a while, never had dismissed him > unchecked the mod in data Files went back into skyrim >

Clicked vanilla followers >

Click option to ask them to follow >

They agree to follow, though no voice audio >

They don't follow when I take a few steps away >

I click them again >

Option to ask them to follow is there still >

Checked Fenrir mod to work again in data files >

Asked him to follow >

Worked like normal >

Dismissed him >

Asked another follower to follow >

Same result, saying they will follow (audioless), then don't. >

I have no quests active. If it has anything to do with anything, (**POTENTIAL SPOILER AHEAD**) in the main quest line I just finished the mission when you had to go under cover to a thalmor party, and I now started the quest where you have to go to the Ragged Flaggon to look for that guy.

What is the problem? I don't understand. I tried the console command "Set playerfollowercount to 0" and that did nothing. I made sure I had no other followers. Can anyone help me here? {:( Much appreciated :D

Thanks for reading this far <3

Because the mod most effeminately referenced playerfollowercount. Installing a mod, saving and uninstalling a mod has detrimental results on both the over all stability of the game, but also the game play mechanics that the particular mod refers to. Installing a follower mod and uninstalling it is risky to say the least. Only fixes are

A) Try to revert to a save pre-mod

B) Start new game

I'm Sorry for your loss

I don't know much about this kinda thing in general, but isn't there something you can do that requires sleeping in a house for 30 days or something that "cleanns" a save or restarts it or something? Would that help at all maybe instead of restarting on a whole new save? Edited by AmethystDragon

Try installing the mod again then properly dismiss your followers then save then uninstall, and see if that works
