vonBennett
I am finishing up Outpost Zimonja to go with my settlement mod. Like the other settlements, I included a power source. When I open up the settlement workshop the correct power rating (50 in this case) is showing up but instead of green font, it is showing up in red font (like there is a power shortage). I know Outpost Zimonja is somewhat unique as it come with its own power source and lighting. I did remove those lights and the original power source (disabled them only since they were references; I also removed their linked ref to the workshop). My other settlements are okay but this one is different; like i said I am assuming it is showing up this way because it was per-packaged with working power source. Does anyone have ideas how this can be fixed in the Creation Kit? Thank you.
Zorkaz
Doesn't red mean you've got to many settlers and not enough power supply? Also are you using a custom power source? Maybe there's bad keyword associated with it
SKKmods
Search on SCRAP CRASH you will find that modifying power items does not update the hidden power grid. KG and Reg2k published some sort of tools for this. Monkeying with existing power in CK or runtime script = bad.

You can created a power source and hook it up to the workshop directly (which shows up in the game as settlement power) but you cannot hook things up in the Creation Kit using power connectors and wires. I read that it is due to Bethesda's short shortsightedness when the developed the Creation Kit for use by the public?
SKKmods
search on "fallout scrap crash" the #1 result: The scrap crash is caused under 3 conditions: You removed a mod that had anything involved with power in it without first scrapping those items. 2. You disabled/marked for delete an item involved with power. ... I read that it is due to Bethesda's short shortsightedness when the developed the Creation Kit for use by the public? I read the information on the "Fallout Scrap Crash). If I understand what they were saying I should be able to do the following: I should be able to restore the deleted power items while in the Creation Kit: zoom below the settlement where the deleted items are moved to (I see them down there and have moved items back up before), then re-enable the power items (that were disabled and moved down there) and move them back up to just below the settlement (just 100 spaces down). This should make them available to the power links (since they will still be in the build-able area) yet they will be unavailable to the player using the settlement mod since they will be underground. Then I could either load up a saved game from before I activated this new settlement area (thus before the settlement was unable to hook up power) and the power script should still work....or I could deactivate the entire settlement mod, then run around the game for a few days (let things reset), then re-activate the mod and the power script should work for that settlement? SKKmods
I have no idea if that is good or not. I just avoid power related items because we now realise that we don't fully understand what it is we are doing to those game systems.
vonBennett
Well...in my case it is too late I guess. In the Creation Kit, I also notice that not only are power items (generators, connectors, lights) linked to the workbench (displayed as white line from object to work bench; linked ref via workshopitemkeyword) they seem to be linked to something else as they all seem to have a green line linked to something.else (unseen)...I wonder if that is the power script somehow?
