jjb54
There are actually some steps you have to take. Since I can only go on what you posted and not on what you did not post: First of all the NCR MUST come to you. After exiting the Lucky 38 after complete the quest "Ring-a-Ding-Ding".After that go to Camp Mclaren and talk to the Bounty hunter and ask where he got the Caps and he will say about the Major. After doing so talk to the Major and ask if you can do a bounty. There are a couple of other steps as well ..... It will help if you do: Help the Sgt. with the interrogation of the Emperor's Captured Soldier.Talk to the CO about the " leak " and the " Control Tower ".Do odd jobs. ( Google if you need help. ) Good Hunting!

madmongo
At some point, depending on how and when you do things, you should be approached by three people. They will approach you either as you leave the Lucky 38 or as you leave the Tops casino. Which one depends on your actions. The first is a woman named Emily Ortal. As noted, she is with the Followers. You can do her small quest or not. Either way it has no impact on an NCR playthrough. The second is an NCR messenger who will tell you to meet with Ambassador Crocker. Go meet with Ambassador Crocker if you want to follow the NCR quest line. The third is Vulpes Inculta, or if you killed him previously, another Legion representative. You can follow all of the quest lines (House, NCR, Independent, Legion) up to a point. At some point, each quest line will block off the other quest lines, and you will get a message telling you that if you keep doing what you are doing, a particular faction won't want to work with you any more. Many of the quest lines are intertwined. For example, House, Caesar, and Ambassador Crocker will all tell you to visit the Boomers. If you do the quest for Mr House, make sure you also go see Ambassador Crocker if you want to advance the NCR questline, for example.
jjb54
when i completed the ring a ding and went in and exited the lucky 38 a lady that was in the followers of the apocalypse and not the ncr Again, Lucky 38 is not a " sure thing ". I would again just encourage you to: After that go to Camp Mclaren and talk to the Bounty hunter and ask where he got the Caps and he will say about the Major. After doing so talk to the Major and ask if you can do a bounty.Help the Sgt. with the interrogation of the Emperor's Captured Soldier.Talk to the CO about the " leak " and the " Control Tower ".Do odd jobs. madmongo
The NCR questline can be started regardless of any previous interactions with the NCR. You don't need a good reputation with the NCR. In fact, you can even be vilified by the NCR and you can still go and see Ambassador Crocker and start the quest. Once you speak to Ambassador Crocker and start the quest, any infamy with the NCR will be removed. You do not need to go to Camp McCarran first. The McCarran quests do not have any impact at all on the NCR courier giving the player the note to see Ambassador Crocker. The ONLY requirement to start the NCR questline is completion of Ring-a-Ding-Ding. Nothing else matters. Depending on how you complete Ring-a-Ding-Ding, the NCR courier will meet you either outside of the Lucky 38 or outside of the Tops casino. Here is the thing - if you VILIFY with ANY OTHER FACTION you are SHOT ON SITE! . o O ( At least in my game I am .... ) So when I entered the NCR area of New Vegas - I was being SHOT ON SITE by NCR NPC's, I did not even get into the Embassy, let alone talk with Crocker. madmongo
I haven't actually tried it myself. I was going by this note in the Fallout New Vegas wiki: "This quest disregards Reputation with NCR; even if the Courier is Vilified with them, they are still allowed to enter the embassy and talk to Crocker." I don't know exactly when your reputation is cleared. It may be at the end of Ring-a-Ding-Ding, so if you vilify yourself after that, the NCR could then shoot you on sight. Then again, maybe the wiki is wrong.
jetpaakkatt
Hey I didnât know where to put this but Iâve had this idea, what if you play the role of the legion spy and stay on the good side and eventually join the ncr(maybe not join cuz I think thatâs the point of no return.) but take as many ncr quests as you can but find some way to non violently fail every quest. Ceasar does talk with you about what youâve done, I think heâll have unique dialogue about how you couldâve been a thorn in his side but youâre such a failure heâs actually pleased with you. Even if that much doesnât happen this could still a fun role play, you could try the same on ceasars side too
