Cait833 Posted December 8, 2012 Share Posted December 8, 2012 (edited) Hi, I want to remove a few things from my mod list if I can (it could possibly help with both my, and others', CTDs) - fixes and tweaks mainly. These are the mods in question: 1. a elksfixs shadowfixs (gives the mounted elk heads shadows)2. Collectible Mysterium Xarxes (makes the Mysterium Xarxes, in the Mythic Dawn museum, collectable, rather than just being a one-sided texture)3. Dawnguard Glowing Vampire Eye Fix (does what it says on the tin)4. Dawnguard Vampiric Drain Fix (fixes some issues with the spell, for Vampire Lord, caused by Serana being your follower)5. Female Vampire Eye Fix (corrects the an issue where a female vampire would receive the standard hazel eyes instead of vampire eyes) Included in USKP6. Green Water Fix (returns the water to normal visibility where some underwater environments were completely opaque)7. HD Textures DLC Fixes & HighResTexturePack DLC Tweaks (fixes some mistakes and improves some stuff from the HD Textures DLC)8. Hearthfire - Cases Closed (closes the cases in houses that were set to open as default)9. Matching Set Fixes (fixes the issues with certain armors not applying the matching set perk) Included in USKP10. My Home Is Your Home (assign homes for your followers) Removed as you already know where your followers live and they are not robots11. No Spinning Death Animation ('cause spinning on the spot after being hit with an arrow in the back is just silly)12. Non-essential Killable Children (actually fixes many issues with children - not just their illogical invincibility)13. Projectile Soul Trap with Visible Impact Effect (for those without crosshairs, aiming issues or Skyrim syndrome) MShoap13 is working on a clean version that doesn't corrupt your saved games and, hopefully, will work with aquisitive soul gems14. Proper Aiming (arrows and spells actually go to the centre of the crosshair) Refer to this:Skyrim Archery and Crossbow Tweak15. PROPER Third Person Horse Camera (adjusts the camera position when on horseback so that you can better absorb your surroundings)16. Real Effect Candle (does exactly that) Removed as it should be covered by Overhaulin lights sources for ENB and Vanilla with striping fixes17. Realistic Ragdolls and Forces (arrows no longer send you flying)18. Sanguine Rose Elemental Potency Fix (fixes the issue where the sanguine rose would not work properly when you had the atromancy perk) Fixed in patch 1.519. Shadow Striping Fix Indoor and Outdoor (fixes that nasty flickering effect that should not be in the game in the first place) Outdated - I now use Overhaulin lights sources for ENB and Vanilla with striping fixes20. Spouses Can Live Everywhere (lets spouses live in houses not included in the vanilla game) Removed as I don't want any house mods and my spouse probably wouldn't be able to survive out in the wild...21. Staff of Magnus Absorb (makes the staff actually absorb magicka rather than just damage the foe)22. The Paarthurnax Dilemma (allows you to keep both him and the blades alive, or kill him after getting through his students)23. The Secrets of Ragnvald Book Fix (actually lets you obtain the book which was meant to be there in the first place)24. USKP addon (+ Shriekwind Bastion and Shrine of Talos fix optional files) (a bit old now so not sure if covered by the current USKP - last updated in September - fixes some things with more accuracy than in the UKSP patch)25. Vampire Lord Collision Fix (slightly reduces the size of vampire lords so that they can fit through most spaces in dungeons)26. Vampire Skin Color Fix (fixes all vampire head and body colour mismatch)27. Waterbreathing Breathless Emerge (removes the gasping sound when you have waterbreathing or you are an Argonian) Removed as gasping for breath when moving from real or faux gills to lungs sort of makes sense (not sure if it would actually work that way though)28. Weapons and Armor Fixes (like the USKP addon, it's in addition to the USKP, but even older than the USKP addon - last updated in July - fixes many out-of-place stats for weapons and armor - requires one of sharlikan's compatibility patches) Removed because USKP already includes the fixes part of it, but not the tweaks, which I am fine with. I know that there are quite a few here, but it could help me and many other people out by reducing the amount of tiny mods using up an entire plugin slot or possibly causing CTDs. I have a cleaned version I'm personally running. The mod is two whole records so recreating it in TES5Edit takes about 2 minutes...#14 can be achieved through adding a few lines in the Skyrim.ini config file.#28 is also from Snip, Sharlikran has uploaded a cleaned version of it over here. Any hints as to how you configured the manual proper aiming and recreated Soul Trap (mine is either cleaned or BOSS did't recognise it, I can't remember :P). Please keep researching and let me know if you find anything. I sure hope BOSS updates soon... last one was in September... MShoap13 Posted December 10, 2012 Share Posted December 10, 2012 (edited) MShoap13 is working on a clean version that doesn't corrupt your saved games and, hopefully, will work with aquisitive soul gems I am? o_O I'm happy to give you a quick rundown on how to do this yourself, but I don't really have any intentions to release my cleaned version... 1 ) Open the plugin for this mod in TES5Edit2 ) Expand the tree for this plugin, you should see two groups, Magic Effects and Spells3 ) Expand Magic Effects and you should see one record, copy it's FormID (the eight digit number) into the search FormID box at the top left of TES5Edit and hit Enter.4 ) This should take you directly to the original record in Skyrim.esm, right click on this and choose "Copy as override into..."5 ) Choose "New plugin" hit "OK" name your new plugin6 ) Repeat steps three and four for the record under the Spells branch of the original mod.7 ) Click on the new Magic Effect you copied over and in the View pane, right click and choose "Hide no conflict rows".8 ) Copy the line(s) (aka subrecords) that are different in the original mod to your new mod.9 ) Repeat steps 7 and 8 for the Spell10 ) Exit TES5Edit, it will ask you which plugins to save. FIN If the original mod has issues with Acquisitive Soul Gems then this will too. Maybe see if they have conflicting records by opening the original (or your new) plugin and Acquisitive Soul Gems in Edit at the same time and viewing the two whole records with "Hide no conflict rows" turned on. From here you could make a merged patch by copying the relevant subrecords from this mod to Acquisitive Soul Gems. If you make any changes to Acquisitive Soul Gems be sure to make a backup. I think I'll now do a clean install of Skyrim now so that there are no leftovers from previous mods as I don't manually uninstall mods, but I will try to from now on. Cait833 Posted December 12, 2012 Author Share Posted December 12, 2012 (edited) Well, seems like a clean install (uninstall, delete everything in directory, reboot, run ccleaner and defragment, then extract clean install archive into directory) plus SKSE and a few sound and texture packs (I installed a lot of mods and cleaned them, but disabled all but the update, dawnguard and hearthfire plugins) is running without a hitch... so far - managed to get into Bleak Falls Temple and saved at the stairs with the skeevers. I'm going to enable the USKP, UDGP and UHFP as well as the Climates of Tamriel, OLSE, and other lighting, environmental and npc texture enhancement mods to see what they bring up.
