Katarsi
I've noticed that ever since I started to play Skyrim, I've never had the Lover's Comfort effect after my character sleeps with their spouse. It doesn't matter whether it's a vanilla or modded NPC/follower. It never, ever occurs. I never paid too much attention to the lack of it because my character usually gets very powerful very fast and that effect was never really essential. I've always been fine with just Well Rested. However, if anyone has an idea why my Dragonborns' spouses aren't honestly in love with them, I would really like to know and try to fix it, if I can. thumbincubation
Does your dragonborn pay more attention to the Black Horse Courier than to their spouse? Does your dragonborn ask their spouse about the events of the day and then listen intently? Does your dragonborn make things about themselves? (I couldn't help it. Don't hurt me)

Are you suggesting that Mara has somehow cursed me?
thumbincubation
Remember when you accidentally ice spiked her boy, Erandur, while he was fighting his way to the Vaermina's altar? :ermm:
Shabdez
You don't get any resting bonus while you are infected with lycanthropy. Also, if you have the Lover Stone activated, you don't get Lovers Comfort.
Katarsi
Remember when you accidentally ice spiked her boy, Erandur, while he was fighting his way to the Vaermina's altar? :ermm: ...Oh. :pinch: But you don't know the extent of the curse. About a week ago, I had decided for the first time to adopt a kid. So I adopt that poor creature freezing in the streets of Windhelm.I married Ysolda, because who else would a notorious master thief marry than an undercover skooma dealer? So I take them both to Honeyside, close to my "work" base. After the first night - instant Father's Love effect. I was so surprised, I momentarily forgot that there actually is such a thing in the vanilla game. And the wife? ...Turns out she's with me just for my money and connections. Sloot. Also, if you have the Lover Stone activated, you don't get Lovers Comfort. I'm aware of both, that's not the issue. So I'm either really cursed or my game is broken only in that part, because everything else works as intended.

rip96
It's a (very) old bug for me, then I start playing again when it's annoys me, so I trace the "PlayerSleepQuestScript" script via papyrus log. In my case, the culprit is REALISTIC NEEDS AND DISEASES. So here's what's what: The script logic is original from Skyrim.esm (later patched by Heartfire DLC), RND doesn't override this, But, RND removes the notification message for when you're supposed to acquire the buff (just removal, so logic runs fine, but players don't get informed). RND adds a condition to the "RestedMarriageSkillEffect", the condition checks for the global variable value of "RND_state", the logic seems fine to me since the "well rested" and "rested" sleep bonus (skills increase faster) which uses the same condition checks runs fine (there are notification and active effect), but when I let it run for marriage sleep check (no debug environment) still, the bug persists. The solution: > Revert the buff to it's original value(s), by patch. if using xEdit: Load your mods, go to formID 0010D96C "RestedMarriageSkillEffect", the original. on the tree, right-click, "copy as override into" , select new file (esp), name it, save it Load after RND. you could also patch the notification message for lover's comfort [MESG:000FD80F] for it to show, same step, different formID. in theory, the patch should be clean, since all scripts are Skyrim's internal, you could enable and disable it without corrupting the save, still, the rule of thumb is: ALWAYS create a save before applying any mod. IMHO, the mod's creator is trying to balance the playthrough concept, but then again I don't follow the discussion on the mod page, so I don't really know whether it's a bug or a feature? (yes).
