wayneout
Every time I start up Fallout 4, I have to go into "mods menu" and enable looksmenu. I have at least one mod that requires it. Anybody know why this is happening? Thanks
StormWolf01
Heyas Wayne. I had the exact same problem. I would have to manually set it as active through the game's built in mod manager every single time that I wanted to play with it active, despite not ever setting it as INactive. Here's how I fixed that problem. I bypassed the modmanagers. What the modmanagers do, is provide an interface to edit the file that the game uses to keep track of what mods are active and which ones aren't.They modify a file called plugins.txt which is located on your computer here - C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Fallout4\Plugins.txt XXX being a folder named whatever name you use to log into your computer. It is just a text file, so you can open it with notepad which is included in windows. find the entry for the LooksMenu.esp file and check to see if it has an asterisk * in front of the name. If it does not, put one there. Then hold down the CTRL key, and tap your S key to save the changes. If you are using any other modmanagers, double check to make sure that you have it set as active there too, and deployed, if that applies to whatever manager you're using. While I'm not entirely 100% sure of why it will not stay active. My educated guess would be that it's because f4se is not required for the startup of the game. And the .dll file for looksmenu only runs if f4se is used to start the game. Again, dunno if that's the actual cause or not. But that should help you out :wink:Cheers, stay well!-Storm Edited March 28, 2020 by StormWolf01
