I was about to start a new play through :dance:, got all the mods I wanted installed and used BOSS, NMM, Tes5edit, and created a merge patch. Started up the game and had a CTD :dry: as soon as I "entered" the building behind the Nord with the dragon attacking.It has to be a mod that is installed and I am having some trouble locating what one. :wallbash:. MShoap13 Posted December 11, 2012 Share Posted December 11, 2012 (edited) Yep, those plugins (and possibly more on that long list of mods you're using) were made in TESVSnip. It's known to create corrupted plugins containing inaccurate, superflous, or just plain broken data. Running these plugins can corrupt your save games, cause CTDs, etc. You could try to recreate said mods in TES5Edit if you know what you're doing (You never want to copy a whole branch of subrecords from a plugin made in snip to a fixed plugin, because Edit will copy the bad data as well as the good data. A single subrecord shouldn't be a problem). You will need the original script(s) and the CK to remake mods that contain scripts... Alternatively, just ditch the old mods. It's best to open questionable mods in the CK as well because TES5Edit misses a number of potential issues (such as bad info in file headers, etc.). If a mod claims it requires Skyrim 1.8 or higher chances are it's clean. Additionally, some modders have begun the process of updating/fixing a lot of these older mods. In this thread, I gave a fellow Nexus user a rundown on how to remake a really simple mod in TES5Edit; fixing most mods follows the same formula so if you'd like to acquaint yourself with the process, grab this mod, follow the steps in the previous post, and then load your new plugin in the CK once you've saved it in TES5Edit to verify that it is in working order. Keep in mind, some mods are designed in such a way that the CK will throw an error message when loading them even though they're working perfectly fine.
