Who here actually still plays EVE?

Makes sense.

A lot of the "corp leaders" I've met are pretty base people, motivated by emotion and a desire for what in their testosterone fogged world means success-killing noobs in pvp. They dont think before they act and they're usualy on such a power trip from fighting other players that they feel invincible, thus, when someone angers them, they attempted violence upon the person responsible, running heedlessly into a trap.

Makes great sense to me-atleast some cunning minds pvp, clearly.

As a corp leader, I'd like to disagree with that :P Although, we don't get involved in much pvp, and no 0.0 stuff at the moment since we're so new - so maybe I'll turn into a dick a few years down the line too :D

In my experience 90% of new corps fail, sooner or later. The biggest problem is recruitment - getting new members to join, and stick with you, is really really difficult. And if you don't get any new members, and its just 3 or 4 of you there, it is incredibly easy to get burnt out, and have everyone just drift off and abandon the corp completely. That's what's happened to many of the corps I've been in, and it's not particularly fun. The key is to find a corp that is either already well established, or has a solid base to build on - for example a way to ensure recruitment, such as being the official corp of a major website or something (eg. Goonfleet). It's also good to join a corp you have some link with too - members you already know, etc. Its much easier to get settled in.

Anyway, if you are looking for a good corp to join that isn't in any danger of collapsing any time soon, we're always recruiting. As the PCGamer Magazine official corp, we have a good large base of people (the entire magazine readership) to recruit from, so we're constantly growing. We're called PCG Enterprises - my character name is Jonan Amraphenson, if you want to get in touch. See here for details. (you don't have to be a PCGamer reader to join btw - I'm not)

I wasnt implying they were all brain dead or jerks, just most of them.

I may actualy have to think about your offer Terminator, my current corp is a wretched mess. The "face invaders" havent invaded anything since I joined, and while they are less idiotic than some I've seen, their leader is anything but charismatic. I could whinge for hours about the truly pathetic corps I've been part of, but this one is only barely a "pass".

What I look for is active members who actualy have something to contribute, and for leaders who actualy have that spark of command and leadership that sets them apart from the chaff. A corp without an alpha is a group of bound prisoners siomply waiting to be dragged down into hell by their incompetant commander's own failures, I know damn well the warning signs of that.

The hard part is picking in advance who is predator and who is prey. Certainly, some wear their idiocy on their sleeves, but a lot of them are snake tongued lyars, which means it's not always easy to tell the talentless lying scum from the honest leaders.

My worst experience with a corp would be one I'm not going to name for their own safety. They are the worst because I once heard their leader say in /help quote: "this whole f***ing game is a pile of dog s***, I looked for five minutes! FIVE F***ING MINUTES! wtf is wrong with ccp?! Im not going to waste a f***ing hour training a f***ing skill I'll never f***ing use!, this whole game sucks, oh, and ISD? go f*** yourself f******t" Now, I added some punctuation and grammar, but that was his speech after he was told he wouldnt be able to buy a titan for atleast another two years.

As for your particular group terminator, I dont know, I've not heard of your magazine before, nore do I know what timezoen you are in. To be honest I seriously wondering what the point of continuing to play EVE is, I've achieved success beyond what most trash could ever hope to, but as things stand, I need allies, and no allies seem to exist that are worthy to clean the ash of obliterated enemies off my ship's armour, let alone serve as corpmates.

Lol, to be fair - most 0.0 corp/alliance leaders/directors I've met haven't been particularly nice people - including the CEOs/directors of several major corps/alliances, very well known people (not going to name any names obv). So I'd say theres more than a shred of truth in calling all CEOs dicks. And of course, you always get idiots in every game - we were recently wardecced by a corp called the "GAYE *censored*ERS" (capitals and all). It was extremely tempting to report them to CCP for having an innapropriate name, but I was just leaving to go on holiday when it happened, so I didn't get a chance :(

As for PCGamer - Its the largest global games magazine. I think it has a readership of around 50,000 or so in the UK alone, and probably more in the US. Their website is here, if you're interested. I don't think it's sold in Australia, which would explain why you haven't heard of it.

Our corp only has 30 or so members atm, including alts/inactive people, but we're growing every day - and like I said, theres no danger of us dying out anytime soon. We're mostly a very active corp, we do regular mining and missioning ops (pvp occasionally too, but we're not very good at that tbh - as our astounding killboard efficiency of 3% can attest), and whatever other things take our fancy. We're looking to expand into wormhole operations too once we have the isk, and enough experienced members to handle it.

As for timezones - pretty broadly spread out through most of the day, but we're busiest between around 5pm - 3am EVE time. IIRC, Australian peak time is around midday GMT, and there are often people around then

EDIT: Also if that guy's corp is still around, I wouldn't mind an opportunity for the corp to get some pvp practice - and it sounds like they'd be fairly good target practice ;). Then again, that guy's probably quit Eve - it's far too complicated for him.

Wel, the face Invaders too have failed and after so many corps I'm not going to bother replacing them.

To be honest EVE's greatest strength is also it's greatest weakness. It's incredibly complex but all the brains who played it have been and gone and it's another wow. And it just doesnt have the gameplay to survive in such a condition, atleast not in my mind.

So I'm changing mmos-it's just not worth my time and energy to continue bothering with a game full of idiots. I'm sure smart worthwhile people still play it, but I really have gotten sick of trying to hunt them out.

I play Eve Online.

The corporation I am in is out in 0.0 at present. We get to see a fair amount of pvp at the present moment, or we can go to HED and wait for fleets to come through from Keberz.

Name in game is Kiran

Corp Terra Hawks

Alliance triple AC. :woot:

I still play, good game and very unpredictable events.

Currently have a 34mil sp gallente/Minnie toon and a 25mil sp amarr/caldari toon and pay both with plexes.

Both these toons live in a class 5 wh and there's is ALWAYS something to do so its never boring, we always have a wh to lowsec/0.0 and we occasionaly get the awsome wh brawl or gank involving a 3bil tengu and what not.

Unfortunately latest few carebear ganks have been unlucky but this one still makes me lol http://www.aqi.eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=7443448

I forced him over gate with dramiel and never got on mail :(

Anyways, little post to show the game isent dead ;).
