kailoi
Hi there, I have one the increasingly common ARM based windows 10 laptops (Samsung book s) and I just tried to install the Vortex Mod manager and it told me it requires x86 64 bit. Are there plans for an ARM version? The Book S can emulate 32 bit but I get that the devs have no desire to support old tech. How about forward looking support for ARM? It's only going to get more common now windows 10 supports it and the power/battery life benefits are insane. Thanks in advance.
Tannin42
What games can you play on an arm based system? Vortex itself is written mostly in javascript which would work the same on arm. But Vortex also uses many native libraries for lower level system operations. Some are our own, others are foreign. To be able to port to arm every single one of them needs to be made compatible with that platform, especially with foreign libraries that could be a lot of work. Porting to ARM could be a lot of work which is hard to justify for a platform that - to my knowledge - doesn't support most of the games. We currently don't even have the time to do Linux and Mac OS ports and those platforms are probably more attractive to gamers than ARM based systems and porting would be easier.
