Gorsha Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 A little question, I have 6 mods for Serana. One for the looks, one to make her mariable, to remove her hood, 2 x dialogue, and Queen of the damned. These are 6 esp plugins. Is it possible to merge it to 1 esp with SSEedit without adding the previous esp's as a masters? I tried to do it with Merge Plugins, but then I get an invisible Serana. I tried with SSEedit, but it always add the previous files as a master so you still need them in your loadorder. I want less esp, not more. ð
ZeroOaths2 Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 I used to do something similar to what you're talking about back when I added mods to the Xbox 360 version of the game. Literally had to build custom archives and combines esp's to save on space. Believe you would have to basically manually rebuild all the mods into 1.
VulcanTourist Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Merging mods for the primary goal of saving plugin slots is Olde School. It's simply not necessary now when Light plugins are virtually limitless (4096) and can take their place. The same is true of the old kitchen-sink mods that bundle dozens of unrelated or loosely related features under one plugin roof in the name of slot-saving. Vortex makes trivial the flagging of compatible plugins as Light that are not already Light out of the box. It's an entirely new modding world now because of Light plugins.
saurusmaximus Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 I wouldn't merge those, as you will likely end up with conflicts, i.e.; some of the dialogues won't work correctly, she won't use her spells from QoD, etc. You can try converting those mods to .esl files, as VulcanTourist suggested, or find some mods in your load order that will merge better.
SzassTamofThay Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 I just recently hit 245 plugins on my mod load order. I've so far been able to merge almost 14 plugins together with zmerge on zedit and now have 231 plugins loaded on my game and after thorough testing I have had no issues. I don't think there is a better plugin merger out there. I've heard sseedit's merger has some issues (I could be wrong on that). I highly recommend you give zedit a shot. It's made by the same author for merge plugins as I understand it and he/she does a tremendous job!
