Modding peer to peer?

Hey guys me and a buddy of mine have been trying to have a go at modding, no issues so far but we've somehow f*#@ed up our ability to play with each other... anyone else had any luck??

make sure both of you have the exact same mods installed. I also believe it is better to make a private server and mod that instead but it's been a while since I last played 7 Days
