Thor.
BEEESSTT!! investment ever!!, ya finally have it built, and http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/whistling.gif i used the h80 and My temps on the amd 8350 is 16c on idle and 24c on load. Its pretty amazing. I managed to cut down the noise factor about 50%, i can hear the hdd's working, never realized how noisy they were lol. I used the on board fan controllers to change the fan direction, ya i can do that with my case. You can flip the air flow on the fly. the big fan is sucking air out through the top as the radiator sucking in cold air from outside. Then the front fan controllers are turned down to almost off position. The Antec 1200 rules. http://oi50.tinypic.com/3495vo5.jpgLowest i have seen it was 12c on idle. And a heaven benchmark, as you can see it overclocked itself with turbo. I didn't touch the bios except update it. http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/thumbsup.gif http://oi46.tinypic.com/5n51t4.jpg Edited December 22, 2012 by Thor. Dan3345
Woah that is really low. What is your ambient room temperature?
blove
Man you had me double-checking my rig when I saw your Heaven benchmark, until I noticed it was Crossfired. Edited December 22, 2012 by blove
Thor.
My indoor temp is 21c room temp, its amazing i can't tell you how much this baby can be OC'ed, just imagine the possibilities. I can run Farcy 3 maxed out, with v.sync stutter free http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/turned.gif http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/turned.gif http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/turned.gif
hoofhearted4
umm....your CPU cant be cooler then your room temp. unless you are using liquid nitrogen or some sort of super cooling device :P
Thor.
The h80 is a "water" cooling heatsink. Its working as it should be. Remember http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/biggrin.gif The corsair water cooling heatsink is the ultimate super cooling device http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/biggrin.gifhttp://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/thumbsup.gif Edited December 22, 2012 by Thor. The water is not chilled as there is no condenser. So the temperatures you are describing given what you say your ambient air temperature is are impossible. Thor.
Well I'm wearing a t shirt, and it quite comfortable, i don't know whats causing it to be so cool, i guess I'm just lucky that way http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/confused.gif My gpu also Idles pretty low, around 32c. I gotta test the heatsink to see if the temps are not naturally produced This can't be happening lol http://oi47.tinypic.com/35bw9av.jpg Its definitively not 13c in doors http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/confused.gif unless its using some really fancy coolant inside that hose??? I just did a Dirt 3 benchmark and i hit a whopping 90fps http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/teehee.gif JJJJOOOOOOOYYYYY!!!!!! To add to the mystery my pc is almost directly over a vent and the furnace is on???, well not directly, a foot to the left?? Plot thickens. Edited December 22, 2012 by Thor. Dan3345
Either the probes in the CPU itself aren't reading right, or the software you are using to read it isn't accurate at all. Could be a combination of both. The CPU probes don't actually detect thermals, they simply run an algorithm to determine the most likely temperature based on CPU usage and clock/voltage. The software taps into those probes. Therefore neither are accurate but they do serve to give you an idea. Your GPU temps are normal. My 680 tends to hover around 32-34 degrees on idle. And I have a reference cooler :P Also the 8350 may read thermals strangely considering its a quad core pretending its an eight. I don't know if the probes are directly linked to each physical core if they are split between the integer cores.. If its the latter than I can see that being the problem. Wonder if others with these "eight cores" have the same issue. Would be interesting to find out.
Thor.
The big give away is the fact it has hyper threading, which is developed by Intel. The question why keep it a secret, I wonder if Intel and AMD had a deal going on??? strange though to be sharing technology like that. Note the HTT.. Edited December 22, 2012 by Thor.
