Saggaris
On the PCIs there a way to disable the 'tutorial' message boxes that keep invading the screen in the early stages of the game... the ones that pop up at annoyingly inconvenient moments, like when you're trying to escape a big cat by running away and jumping onto a rock... and a big black box covers your screen telling you that your health/stamina is low and you should rest or take a potion to restore it... thus causing a miss jump while you faff about getting rid of the box...and loo late, you're dinner.I play on 'Hardcore' with one life and no regen with 'live another life' by Arthmoor and those darn boxes have caused me to see the inside of that prison too often. Appreciate any help on this issue! Edited December 21, 2012 by Saggaris
jack013
It only happens the first time doesn't it?
Saggaris
Nope!... every time you start a new game, which in my case is when my character dies.As far as I know every new char has to go through the 'tutorial' the first time he/she does something like use the forge, use the smelter, cooking, becoming low on health, low on stamina, magic... make a potion, tan a hide... whatever, the 'noob message' pops up and spoils the immersion, and this is irrespective of whether you have one hour playing or 1000 hours.I just wanna turn em off, I know how to play the damn game. :wallbash:
Saggaris
UPDATE! There is an answer! Go to your Skyrim ini, (the one in your documents folder... 'my games/Skyrim') and add the lines below [interface]bShowTutorials=0 PS... NOT the one called 'Skyrim Prefs' it's just called 'Skyrim' and about 2k in size, Make a back-up beforehand if you feel unsure!

Rooker75
Well I'll be damned. I sat here tracking those messages down in the Creation Kit once to get rid of them, only to find out the maniacs had *hardcoded* the stupid things. You win all the internet points. EpiceneBlue
I can't get this to work after putting the line in the Skyrim.ini file, I still get the stupid messages.
